Arrival Story:
We adopted Ellie at our local shelter. She is a liver-spotted Dalmatian. The vet estimated her to be 3 yrs old when we got her, so we use her adoption date as her birthday. Ellie is super calm and loving and NEVER barks. She loves going to the park to sniff the flowers and lamp post. Ellie loves to cuddle and give hugs. She has pretty bad allergies and sometimes has seizures. She is the sweetest and cutest dog ever.

anyone else's Dal growl when happy ?

Mommy and daddy say when I sleep (which is alot) I must dream. I kick all four legs and bark in a high pitch. Sometimes I growl. Plus when I get hot they say I smell just like Frito corn chips. But when I wake up the smell completely disappears. Wish I could smell it. I'm sure I'd like it.------------------------------------------------------I won Bamboo Pet's e-newsletter of the month and got a Furbuster.---------------------------------------------------------June 16 Dog of the Week at Got Spots? In Loving Memory

Ellie passed away late Monday night. It was very unexpected. She acted like she had a belly ache for a couple of hours and then started to have a mild seizure and then all of a sudden she was gasping for air and just stopped breathing. By the time the vet got there she had died in our arms in the car. It all just happened so fast. The vet said in his 10 yrs he had heard of freak cases where they could stop breathing during a seizure but had never seen it happen. They said they could do an autopsy cause they said she could of had a heart attack or aneurysm. But we decided against it since it wasn't going to change the outcome now. We buried her yesterday on my father-n-laws land in the country. She's under a big cedar tree with her blanket and favorite toy. We love you and will miss you.

Mommy and daddy surprised me with a birthday party yesterday. All the family came and brought me lots of presents. Mommy and daddy also made me a special cake. It was made of carob and yogurt frosting. Yum!!! Plus I got to have one chili dog.

I got my teeth cleaned. Sparkle, sparkle! But while I was under anesthesia they looked in my ear, cause it had been hurting, and they found a large waxy hairball (gross, how'd that get there) sitting on my ear drum. They removed it and gave mommy some ear drops. Also they did my yearly shots and tests and found I had a tape worm. They said I must have accidently ate a flea. Well now I'm on meds and will back to feeling good soon.

P.S. I guess they think I'm old now at the ripe age of 7 cause they gave me a SENIOR DISCOUNT at the vet. Mommy says yeah to the discount though.
