The time he jumped over a doggy gate, between two bars of an entry gate at my sister's condo. I think I need to sign him up for agility training!

Arrival Story:
My beautiful mixed breed dog, Mr. Cookie, died on Thanksgiving Day last year. I was heartbroken at the loss and decided to get another companion. It had been my desire for a long time to adopt another pet but I didn't want to while Mr. Cookie was still alive. I adopted Spencer from Dachshund Lovers of Texas, a non profit Dachshund rescue group. They picked him up from Fort Worth Animal Care & Control. They didn't have him very long when I adopted him. He was so skinny, his spine was clearly visible, he had an eye infection and colitis. It also became clear that he has a bad case of Separation Anxiety. This may have been the reason why he was found as a stray to begin with. I took him to my vet who made sure he was treated properly and today he looks like a different dog. I'm so happy that we have eachother. Adopting a pet is very rewarding.
