Arrival Story:
I had been looking for a schnauzer puppy for a few weeks. I found Rudy's picture on the internet and fell in love with him. I made plans to pick him up on a Sunday. When I got to the breeder's place...I found something along the lines of a puppy mill! I could not wait to get Rudy out of that enviroment. I am so glad that I got him at 7 weeks...and he was still young enough to learn to socialize with people. When I picked him up, he didn't know how to walk on carpet, how to lick, or what to think of being petted. Now he is the most loved and spoiled puppy ever!!

Hi Puppy Pals,

It's been a while. Life here is just so exciting!! I moved to a new state and am now an official farm dog. I love having all that room to run.

I am feeling a bit under the weather right now. About a month ago I began vomiting. It got to the point where I could not keep ANYTHING down. I was getting kind of skinny!!
My people took me to the vet. They did an x-ray (they actually thought I may have eaten a sock or something, how rude). It was negative (of course). Then they did a barium swallow on me. I had x-rays taken every 30 minutes for 5 hours!!!!

My doctor said I have pyloric obstructive disease with delayed gastric emptying.
I was sent home with some pills to help increase motility. My people have to make me dog food soup to drink. I guess it is easier to keep down.

I am so much better!! Only vomited 2 times since I have been on the pills. BUT, my vet says I can't be on them long term...
She gave my people 3 options...all involve scoping and surgery and there aren't any guarentees that they will fix my problem.

My people are looking into alternative solutions, but haven't found much help yet.
So, until then...I drink my food...and hope it stays down.

If any of you puppy pals have dealt with POD with DGE...PLEASE talk to my people.
It would help them decide what is best for me!!!

Thank You, and WOOF

Rudy

Hello all my puppy pals, I have a bit of a dilemma that maybe you with all your great puppy knowledge can help me with.
My pawents have been complaining LOUDLY lately that I seem to be a "gassy" dog.
I was on some cheap food when they got me, so they blamed it on that.
After I was home for about a month they decided to switch foods.
I was switched to iVet (which is what my vet recommended since it contains NO wheat or corn).
I may be a BIT better, but still clear the room several times a day. They have gone so far as to cut out all my treats (in case those were the problem) I am not quite 5 months old, so it isn't really any "old age" problem (my aunt has that)

Have any of you dealt with this dilemma, and what did you find worked for you? My pawents are willing to switch foods again if that will solve (or at least HELP the situation).

I know they love me...but I guess I am stinking them out of the house a lot of times...and today I made their guest ill when I let one rip when I was right beside him (oops).

Such an embarrassing problem for a boy to have. Can you guys help me?

I got my staples out today!! I only cried when they took out two of them. I hardly noticed the rest.
My tummy is all healed up (and I have strong abs now). I can go over to Wilson's to play again, I can go for walks, and I CAN GO INTO THE SHOWER all that I want. WHOO HOO life is good.

So, my puppy pals, I can play again...wanna make a play date? BOL
