Arrival Story:
Ruff (formerly named Fulgoso), ran away from his former home. He preferred sleeping under parked cars and getting wet under the rain than go to back to his former home. We would see him so dirty and hungry. So during Tiny's evening walks, we'll give Ruff food. Then he would regulary take walks with Tiny and would wait on the gate for his daily ration of food. Then we noticed that he was sick. What was admirable of him was that even if he was very weak, he would still walk with Tiny. We tried to give him medicine but he became weaker and weaker. He was coughing and he had wounds and was just lying like dead on the street. One night, we thought he'll never make it the next morning. So we cleaned him. He deserved to die with dignity. Since he was dying, we tried to locate his former owners. They were very rude. They slamed the door on us after saying thatthey have abandoned him a long time ago. Right then we knew why Ruff decided to leave home. Since his owners gave up on him already, we took care of him. Last year, he had a tumor. He was brave and trusting enough to undergo chemo. That was a test of his character! He went through all the pain and inconvenience without any complain nor aggressive behavior. The vets said he was the most behaved and cooperative dog they've ever treated! He lost his hair and would feel nauseated for days. The vein where the medicine was injected became an open wound. Ruff bravely and patiently held on. Now he is well again. We always believed that Ruff chose us. He chose to be with Tiny and become Tiny's Chief Body guard - for life!

Bio:
He is the best dog ever! All the kids in the neighborhood love him, he is very mild-mannered. Ruff is everybody's (dog, cats, birds & human alike) friend! He is the kindest dog! After 3 years of being with us, we never saw him with any aggressive behavior. He is unbelievable! He is a saint!
