Birthday:

Likes:
Jumping up and standing on tall things; being queen of the hill! Playing with Joey and Kipopo!

Pet-Peeves:
Don't put the blanket on top of me! I don't like that and will jump off the bed!!!!

Favorite Toy:
Whatever Kipopo is playing with!

Favorite Food:
Pet Botanics Lamb and Rice . Those liver treats mom uses to teach me with!

Favorite Walk:
Between mom's legs! (I don't like to walk on leash yet and walking between mom's legs is what I do when I'm on leash!)

Best Tricks:
I just learned how to "sit"! Mom's so proud!

Arrival Story:
Mom was at the local pound looking for a specific pup she had seen on a web site (can't remember the name, but it's the website that lists dogs that are VERY near their execution date) She couldn't find the pup she was looking for. (Hopefully someone else already got the pup.) But mom was going all crazy and freaking out (on the inside - she was trying real hard not to let the people see) because she just hates the pound!!!! And seeing all those poor pups inside. She wishes she could save them all and feels so horribly guilty for not being able to do so! Anyway, I was being turned into the pound. (Seems I had been running around a neighborhood for quite a long time and no one was claiming me as theirs.) In fact, the guy had just filled out the paperwork and was walking me around to the back to be physically turned over to the people that work there. Well, the guy had asked if anyone wanted me before I was taken around back and mom just grabbed me and said she would take me. She said no dog should be put in such a horrible place. So, that is how I found my new home!

Bio:
Mom listed me on Craigslist, Pets911, and the Dogdetective web sites, along with my picture, in hopes my previous owners would see me there. No one claimed me. Mom waited about 3 months, through my first heat cycle, then took me to her doggie doctor and had me spayed and microchipped. I get along very well with Kipopo and Joey! It didn't take me long to learn how to use the doggie door or to be housebroken! I didn't know how to play with toys when mom first got me. I wouldn't eat human food or take food from mom's hands at first either. But I have since learned all the bad habits of the other dogs and love human food now and will take it from mom's hands too! (Don't get me wrong, mom feeds us doggie food most of the time but will share a delicious tid-bit with us now and then!) I love playing with toys now and especially love to bug the heck out of Kipopo and take away whatever toy it is he's playing with! I love to de-squeek and de-noise them!!!!! ********************************** *************** Mom doesn't know what breeds I am but the vet believes I am part Pomeranian. Mom is going to do that DNA testing as soon as the vet starts that up - in a couple of months or so. ********************************** ******************* I am a lot younger than mom first thought I was. I behave like I am 2-3 years old! Mom says I must have an old soul!!!! ********************************** ******************* People who see me say I look like a little blonde fox! ********************************** ****************** My name, Kima, is a word for "monkey" in Swahili!

Passed my Class!

This last Monday I passed my beginning obedience class at Petsmart!
Mom was so proud of me! She said I did real well! She thought I might be a bit hard to train due to having some Spitz in me, but I was actually a faster learner than Kipopo was. It kinda embarrassed mom that she was a bit prejudice towards Kipopo since he's a Papi. I showed her!

I also came out of my shell in class (unlike Kipopo who went farther into his!). At first I was a bit standoffish to the humans and would nip at the other dogs if they came over by my mom. But towards the end I was playing with my classmates and would walk around the classroom begging for a back scratch from the humans. Mom thinks it's funny that I now rub against people's legs like a cat when asking for a back scratch!

Mom signed me up for intermediate class that will start in January.

Also, mom has been staring at me, trying to figure out what other breed I might be, besides the Pom. She said I just didn't have that petitie look like a Pom does and that my ears didn't look like Poms either.

Well, now she thinks I might be part Australian Cattle Dog, aka Blue Heeler. She thinks that because of my broad chest and my ears. She says that looking at me from the front I totally remind her of a Cattle Dog.

So, though my true genes may never be known, my mom is now going with the thought that I am part Pomeranian and part Australian Cattle Dog.

What ever makes mom happy . . . I can live with!

Bark at yah later!

My mom the failure

Anyway, she feels she is a failure.

See, today I went to the vet for my year checkup and shots.

Last year, right after mom got me , she took me to the vet and I weighed 19lbs. That was my "ideal weight" according to the Dr.

Well, mom had thought I had maintained that weight pretty much
over the past year.

NOT!!!!!!!!

She was shocked when I stepped on the scales and I weighed in at 30lbs!!!!

Of course, she got in trouble with the vet. Mom always gets in trouble with the vet when she takes one of us, dogs or kitties, because we tend to be a bit overweight.

Mom thought I would be the exception to the rule.

NOT!!!!!!!

Mom hates the trip to the vet more than we do!!!! BOL!!!!!!

Cosmo Dog Park

I got to go to the dog park yesterday! It was quite the adventure!

First, mom took me to the petstore to find a pretty pink harness
for me and a brand new leash! She said she felt safer with me in
a harness as she still doesn't know what I would do if I was able
to get free from her and run.

Anyway, the park is called Cosmo Dog Park. It was named after
(you're thinking the Jetson's dog, right!!!! WRONG!!!!!!!!)
It was named after Gilbert's first K-9 cop, Cosmo van Blitsaerd,

Of the 3 of us doggies, I was the one who enjoyed it the most.
I played with some of the other doggies, unlike Popo and Joey.
I still didn't venture far from mom.

We stayed in the "timid dog" area most of the time, but mom
did take us over to the main part that has the beach and the
"lake". There were some crazy dogs over there!!! Running
through the water!!! Getting me wet!!!!!! Mom tried to get me
to go into the water but I wouldn't! (Geez mom, I am NOT a
water dog!)

In the "timid dog" area there was this little, tiny Chi! He was
a year old but he was the smallest doggie I've ever seen!!
I was very curious about him for a while. Didn't know what
to make of him! But once I figured out he WAS a dog, he
no longer held my interest.

Our doggie friends, Boston and Keenan met us there.
Boston actually enjoyed getting into the water!!! Well,
she was actually "retrieving" balls from the water (She's
nuts about balls, worse the Kipopo is! BOL!)

All in all, I enjoyed the park a lot. I was bushed when
we got home and crawled under mom's bed and took a
long nap!
