Arrival Story:
We found Ruger on Petfinder and went to visit Pointers From Oz which is a English Pointer rescue in Williamston, MI. Erin let out several male puppies and this one "Mickey Mantle" or "Mick" was the one my husband picked. After the rescue had him fixed we brought him home.

Bio:
Erin said: The Baseball kids were dumped at a shelter in rural Tennessee. We were told that there were another 8-9 Pointers besides them there, but that they had been picked up. The way this shelter operates is nuts. The shelter building is left unlocked 24 hours a day. If you see a dog there you like, you can just take the dog without even talking to someone. You do not need to leave your contact information. And the dogs do not have any vetting done (no vaccines or spays and neuters). They also do not have a stray hold time, so a dog that is owned can be taken or euthanized within hours after they arrive, with no record of it. We are not listing the city name of this shelter as we do not want to attract the wrong people to it. We also think this shelter needs as much help as they can get to improve, and we don't want to bring any more negative attention to them than they already have. Needless to say, we wanted to get the puppies out of there. They were also cold and in a dirty kennel run, and we were concerned that they would get sick.

mom and dad went to work the day after I got her and put me in the cage again... hmmmmm I see Jersey, she is in the cage next to me. She likes me most of the time but she is greedy and takes my toys...ummm her toys away from me. I got to get my own toys or she needs to share ...this is no fair. mom came home from work really early Jersey said... she was really tired and took a nap on the floor... I found a remote control and it wasn't so tasty... a pen that was hard but not tasty either... oh and mom reads alot... she has piles and piles of book... I am not allowed to eat them...they didn't taste good anyway but did make a cool noise ...

my new dad picked me up at Pointers from Oz rescue on Valentines evening... I got in the truck and couldn't stay on the seat... I kept going from the seat to the floor.. I don't know it was slippery.... when we stopped I didn't want to go in the big yellow house... it was dark and cold out and I smelled another puppy like me...I decided to go in and there was this big dark pushy puppy.... who is she? where did she come from? is she going to share her toys? I was so nervous I had sever accidents. They we very understanding....most of the night was just checking out the house and the girl puppy, Jersey, at night they shoved me in a cage... I did not like that and let them know.... this is a scary place.... mom came down because I kept calling for someone I didn't like being alone. We stayed up all night long playing, going out side and playing.... mom was a grouch the next day she says I kept her up all night long and she had to go to work...huh what she thought I would get use to the house in one night... crazy lady!
