Arrival Story:
We got Sandi when she was about 3-4 months old. She was covered in fleas, anemic, and full of intestinal worms. She was lovely though and we fell in love with her immediately. We started to call her Sandi because she was light and sandy colored. As a pup she couldn't even get in a car without getting carsick. We thought she would never outgrow it but by the age of 3 it was a thing of the past. Sandi arrived when I was pregnant with my first child. She was with us through thick and thin, good and bad.

As Sandi matured and grew into an adult her fur darkened but she was still and always would be our Sandi girl. Later in life she developed severe arthritis. We started her on Adequan and it really helped her to cope better. During the final months you could tell she struggled. We would have to carry her up and down the stairs and she cried in pain. It was heartbreaking. Around this time 5 years ago she suffered a severe stroke. We originally hoped it was Vestibular Disease, but she never recovered and she stopped eating. She was extremely frail weighing only 46 pounds. In her younger days she was in the 60's. We helped her cross over on President's Day (February 17, 2003). We decided to open a page for her in memory of the heart dog who changed our lives. We love and miss Sandi so much! I'm sure she was there to greet Tara last year and Bruno last Saturday. She was in every aspect Kind and Generous. That is Sandi's Song

Thank you pals for remembering me on this sad day. It was 11 years ago today, also on President's Day that year, that I went to the rainbow bridge. My family was sad but I know that even today they love me like they did when I was with them.

I really appreciate everyone remembering me this day and thank you all for the stars, special gifts, and rosettes. It means so much to have everlasting love.

Hard to believe

It is so hard to believe it has been 10 years since Sandi left us and crossed the Rainbow Bridge. She was an exceptional girl and she really taught us so much. She has been a heart dog and one who gave so much. She also truly taught us the importance of adopting and saving a life. She is very special. When we moved to MN we moved with our human kids and our three girls, Sandi, Tara, and Kammie. All three helped us with transitioning to a new area where we didn't know anyone.

We miss you Sandi, thank you for all you did. We planted forget-me-nots for you yesterday and hopefully they will blossom so they can be transplanted in the spring.

Also, RIP Mindy McCready, who died today. Such a tragic loss

It was 9 years ago that we said our final goodbyes and not a day goes by that I don't think of you. Sandi, you are loved and missed.

A Bridge Called Love

It takes us back to brighter years,
to happier sunlit days
and to precious moments
that will be with us always.
And these fond recollections
are treasured in the heart
to bring us always close to those
from whom we had to part.

There is a bridge of memories
from earth to Heaven above...
It keeps our dear ones near us

It's the bridge that we call love.
