Arrival Story:
We brought Lulu home on February 3, 2008. I had been looking for a puppy for awhile, and wanting one for even longer! I was hoping the perfect dog would pop up on a rescue web page or at animal control but none of them were the right fit. My husband and I then went to a pet shop near Detroit just to check things out and see if it looked like a decent place. Well, we ended up leaving with Lulu (who was priced down sadly, because no one wanted her for Christmas)! She was sweet and cute so I couldn't pass her up.

I licked a toad and I liked it...

Recently I turned 1 yr old! I can't believe it. Mom made me put on a silly party hat for some pictures, but I didn't mind. I got some new toys and treats, and mom even made me a dog-friendly birthday cake! I hope she'll give me treats like that more often but I have a feeling its only for special occasions.

I've settled into our new home in North Carolina quite well. Our neighbor dogs are friendly, and I've even made some toad friends. This weekend I might have gotten a little too close to a toad when I licked him. I just wanted to say "Hello" but before I knew it I was foaming all over the place and mom and dad had me in the kitchen sink trying to wash my mouth out. It was kinda scary but I'm back to my normal self.

Well we made it to North Carolina! The drive was awful, the first night here was awful, but things are finally settling down.

I was a good girl in the car, I didn't get sick or have any accidents. It was hard just being in my car seat for so many hours at a time. Mom and Dad stopped about every 3 hours for me so that was nice. Mom also bought me one of those car shades meant for babies... WHAT A RELIEF. I hate it when the sun beats down on me in the car so it really helped.

The first few days we got here it was in the mid 90's. I think I'm getting used to the warmer weather but I haven't played too hard outside yet.

I miss going to the dog park in Michigan and running free. I hope we can find a park soon.
