"My dogs live here"

My dogs live here, they're here to stay.
If you don't like pets, be on your way.
They share my home, my food, my space,
this is their home, this is their place.

You will find dog hair on the floor,
they will alert you're at the door.
They will request a little pat,
a simple "no" will settle that.

It gripes me when I hear you say
"just how is it you live this way?
they smell, they shed, they're in the way..."
"WHO ASKED YOU?" is all I can say!!!

They love me more than anyone,
my voice is like the rising sun,
they merely have to hear me say,
"C'mon, time to go and play!"

Then tails wag and faces grin,
they bounce and hop and make a din.
They NEVER say "no time for you",
they're always there, to GO and DO.

And if I'm sad? They're by my side.
And if I'm mad? They circle wide.
And if I laugh, they laugh with me,
they understand, they always see.

So once again, I say to you,
"Come visit me", but know this too:

MY DOGS LIVE HERE, THEY'RE HERE TO STAY.
YOU DON'T LIKE PETS, BE ON YOUR WAY.
THEY SHARE MY HOME, MY FOOD, MY SPACE--
THIS IS THEIR HOME, THIS IS THEIR PLACE.

"Here in this house..."

Our wonderful friend HANNAH THE BRAVE has this poem posted in her diary and said we could post it in ours. It is on the site of the rescue who saved this beautiful soul....


Here in this house...

I will never know the loneliness I hear in the barks of the other dogs 'out there'.
I can sleep soundly, assured that when I wake my world will not have changed.
I will never know hunger, or the fear of not knowing if I'll eat.
I will not shiver in the cold, or grow weary from the heat.
I will feel the sun's warmth, and the rain's coolness,
and be allowed to smell all that can reach my nose.
My fur will shine, and never be dirty or matted.

Here in this house...

There will be an effort to communicate with me on my level.
I will be talked to and, even if I don't understand, I can enjoy the warmth of the words.
I will be given a name so that I may know who I am among many.
My name will be used in joy, and I will love the sound of it!

Here in this house...

I will never be a substitute for anything I am not.
I will never be used to improve peoples' images of themselves.
I will be loved because I am who I am, not someone's idea of who I should be.
I will never suffer for someone's anger, impatience, or stupidity.
I will be taught all the things I need to know to be loved by all.
If I do not learn my lessons well, they will look to my teacher for blame.

Here in this house...

I can trust arms that hold, hands that touch...
knowing that, no matter what they do, they do it for the good of me.
If I am ill, I will be doctored.
If scared, I will be calmed.
If sad, I will be cheered.

No matter what I look like, I will be considered beautiful and thought to be of value.
I will never be cast out because I am too old, too ill, too unruly, or not cute enough.
My life is a responsibility, and not an afterthought.

Here in this house...

I will belong.
I will be home.

Hi everyone! I've been tagged by Suika, the beautiful, blue eyed, hat wearing husky! I have to answer 5 questions with four answers, then tag four more furfriends to do the same. I'm ready---let's go!

1) the place I was born
2) my furever home. I guess I'm pretty lucky to have lived in only two places! but
3) I live for running!
4) I live for rides!

(I'll go anywhere my humom can take me but my favorite places are)

1) the ice cream house
2) the hamburger house
3) the allegany river trail
4) the bank (they give me treats!!!)

Four favorite foods:

1) bologna
2) cheese
3) peanut butter
4) tootsie rolls (but I can't have them anymore!!!)

Four place I would rather be:

1) running anywhere
2) chasing bunnies in my yard
3) at the trail
4) at Joyful Rescues playing with all the other dogs!
