Arrival Story:
Hi- my name is Emma, but I've had other names before. When I was in the shelter they named me Roux which I didn't like at all but the shelter crew thought it was fitting because I had just come from Louisana--- yeah I got stuck in the terrible and tragic Hurricane Katrina. Six months after the storm I was still waiting for someone to come back for me. It was really scary. My mommy and daddy always stare at me and ask me, "Emma- what happened before you came to us??" I get so scared just thinking about it that I can't seem to answer them and instead I just block it out. Anyways after waiting in this huge outdoor pen with tons of other dogs in Louisana this wonderful dog resuce group scooped me up with 60 other dogs and sent us away. I heard later that we were scheduled to get put down and thats why that nice dog resuce group saved us and sent us to no kill shelters all across America. Well I was lucky enough to land in the beautiful Garden State- NJ! About a week after my arrival this lady and her family came to see me. She took me out and I got so excited I peed on the concrete and little bit on her leg. Everyone was laughing! Just two days later she officially adopted me and took me home. We've been inseperable ever since and I am sooo happy!
