He loves to play with me. He gets these bursts of energy and I have to chase him about the apartment as part of the game.

Snow & ice & water. He does not like to get his paws wet.

Favorite Toy:
He has been holding out on me. Apparently he knows how to play ball. During one of our 'Chase Me' games he went after a sqeaky soccer ball I had bought for him. So now I always incoperate it into our playtime.

Favorite Food:
He LOVES cheese. (Thats my sister fault 4 giving it to him.) He also loves getting cookies when hes been a good boy.

Favorite Walk:
He's doing much better with the snow and ice. He LOVES to run.

Best Tricks:
He knows sit, come & roll over. Stay he can do if its right outside the kitchen. And hes in the process of learning to fetch.

Arrival Story:
I had a cat. But I wasn't able to keep up with the kitty litter clean up. So I found him a new home. A couple of months later my sister and mother brought me Eli. They said the rescue shelter they got him from found that his previouse owners kept him in a rabbit cage all the time. So now that he has me and I'm ginving him all my attention he doesn't like it when I leave the apartment. So right now we are trying to work on not barking when I am gone. I have gotten so many good tips on how to go about this. Some from this very website. I've only had him a few days so we are still working on things.

My name is Eli and I have living with my human, Regina, for 4 years now. In the beggining when she would leave I would be afraid and bark and bark until she came home. I still bark but only when someone I am not use to comes into the apartment. Regina has two neices now and I am trying to learn to be paitent with them because they play very rough. They like to pull on my fur and I really don't like that very much.
I get along quite well with most of the other dogs in my building except for an older dog, a Scottish Terrior named Stuart. He doesn't like me very much. My dog friends are called, Okiey, a Shitzue like me, Little Bit, a Chiahua mix Louie a poodle and Gismo. I'm not sure what Gismo is but hes smaller than I am and full of energy.

Friday Eli and I went spend the weekend at my grandma's house. After we dropped him off we went out to dinner. We got back my uncle informed us that Eli had run of into the field behind thier house. I got scared and really upset because at fisrt he didn't answer my call. Finally we started hes little yip yip off in the distance. My grandmother and I went to the back edge of the property. I stayed and called for him while she started walking to the back. Finally of my right, his pudgey body popped up. I was sooooo relieved to see him. I couldn't be mad at him for running off.

Well its been about two weeks and I am doing much better. I haven't been barking when my owner leaves the apartment. She has been very paitent with me. She took off from her volunteer job for a whole week so she could work with me. She doesn't want to give the building managers a reason to say I cannot stay with her.
Today we caught one of the tenants saying that she won't be able to take care of herself and me at the same time. But we'll show them. We're already getting along so well. We play together. We go on walks. We even went to visits both of her grandparents' over the weekend. It was fun. But a little overwhelming. There were so many people. And a few dogs too. But that was the whole point of the weekend away. To get me use to other people and animals. Especially, animals that are bigger than me. I can't wait to get brave enough to visit where my owner works at. She says they really want to meet me. But I think it'll be a while before I can do that.
