Arrival Story:
Blue was found as a stray wandering the streets in freezing temps. He had frostbite in several areas on his legs and tail, along with a few cuts and scrapes. A good samaritan took him in, and had him checked out by a vet. He's now on his way to recovery!

Bio:
Look at those baby blues... How could anyone leave such gem out in the cold to starve and freeze? Blue Ice is another poor dog found freezing in the cold, with frost bite on his feet and tail and slowly starving to death. Blue is fostered with two dogs and one cat. He has met the dogs through a baby gate, and during a walk around the neighborhood. At this time they are just curious about each other, and sniff a lot at the gate. Blue has yet to see the cat as she prefers to stay in other areas of the house. Blue likes to run around the fenced yard for short periods of time, but he prefers to be in the house most of the time. When allowed, he likes to watch out the window. Blue rides very well in the car, but needs more practice walking on a leash. Blue eats his meals and sleeps in his crate. He is now comfortable with his crate, and will sometimes walk into the crate to nap during his "free time" in the house! Blue was initially resistant to crate training, but has taken to it very well! Since he was curious to meet our dogs, we put his crate in front of the gate- at that point Blue went right into his crate so he could watch the dogs! He is now learning to "go to your house" when it is time to crate up and night and for feedings. Blue is very eager to please. He learned his name rather quickly and responds well. He listens well when we say "no". He knows how to sit, and we are working on lay down. Blue is a silly boy! He is so happy when he sees anyone that his tail spins like a windmill. Blue is inquisitive. If you leave the room he will follow to check it out. He especially likes my husband and is his shadow! Blue has to sniff everything in the room. Once he is comfortable, he will lay down and watch while we cook, clean or watch tv. Blue is fairly quiet. He doesn't bark often, unless he hears other dogs barking. Besides Blue's gorgeous eyes, his best feature is he so happy! It's impossible to look at him and not smile. Check out Blue's MPR page for more information and photos.
