Well, sometimes the strangest things happen when we least expect it.
Mommy rushed home from work last night and bundled me into her sports car to make an arduous trip to the vets through 5pm traffic because of a suspected ear infection - a journey that normally takes about 15 minutes, but is usually an hour at that time of night.
So, here I was sitting in mommy's sports car in bumper to bumper traffic in the middle of 3 lanes giving mommy kisses cause she was giving me rubs when I heard this barking.
I looked out through the front of the car and there in the car in front of us was this dog with his head out the side back window barking at me!!!!!!
I pricked my ears and looked at him. He moved into the middle of the back seat and stood there looking at me. He was wagging his tail at me, and he kept barking at me. This dog was black and tan, and had a highly expensive leather studded collar on like Iris bought for my brother Jack!! He looked sort of Shepherdish and he kept barking at me!
"Hello gorgeous, do you want to go on a date?" he barked.
Well, really!!!!!! I thought that this was a little forward of him as we hadn't even been introduced so I whined back at him.
"I already have a man in my life thankyou. His name is Alfredo, and he has his own page on Dogster. Are you on Dogster?"
I don't think he heard me because he kept swinging backwards and forwards in the back of his car, barking at me out the back window every now and then.
Now this went on for so long, his owners started looking at me and laughing at him.
Mommy started to laugh too!
"I think you have an admirer Crystal," she told me.
The traffic was moving ever so slowly. It seemed as if we were following this dog all over town, and he wouldn't stop barking at me.
I lifted my paw to the dash in the front of the car and whined at him - trying to stop him drawing attention to me.
The man and his children in the line of traffic beside us was pointing at this dog and then at me - and they were laughing too!
We kept following this car in the bumper to bumper traffic until it pulled into a driveway near where my vet is. The owners let the dog out of the car and held onto his collar while he barked at me and wagged his tail as we drove slowly away from him. His owners waved at mommy and me. Mommy put her car window down.
"I think he likes my girl," she told them.
"He sure does," his owners said over top of his barking.
I leaned over mommy and put my head out her window.
"Woof, woof and goodbye," I barked.
Well, thank goodness we drove away and left him standing on the sidewalk with his owners.
Mommy thought the whole incident was rather funny, but I just felt embarrassed.
What would Alfredo have thought if he'd been there?
Anyway I was most pleased at the vet's when she told mommy, that mommy had just caught my ear infection in the very early stages and it would be gone probably within 24 hrs.

Well today is a huge date in the theatre of life in the world.
For those of us in the free world it is a date now engrained in history to remind us of the horror of terrorism.
All of us were affected by it. The horrific tragedy brought home to us the fact that the world we know and love is not always a safe place.
Our thoughts and prayers are with our dear American friends today. We love you all, and you are very special to us down here at the bottom of the world.
Please know that the Twin Towers will be engrained in our memories and hearts forever, just as they are in yours.
Lest we forget.

Woo Hoo, it was all fun at Club Spin tonight, and I had the most pawsome dance partner ever - such a pity he's not my man - any man who can dance like that has to be taken - sigh!
Anyway it was such a fabulous evening, good food, drinks, fun, pawsome furiends, and I was danced off my feet by my partner. Can you imagine my surprise when he picked me up on the dance floor and spun me around in his arms - "Crystal we won, we won Best Dancers for The Night."
Such blissful words for any Dogster partying girl to hear.:)
