 Quick Bio:
Likes: Butt scritches, long walks and pig ears

Pet-Peeves: He doesn't really have any that I can ythink of.

Favorite Toy: He LOVES the huge penguin with ear muffs and a teddy we won at the greyhound picnic.

Favorite Food: I'd have to say the five pound roast he stole off the top of the stove when Mom's back was turned!

Favorite Walk: ANY WHERE!

Best Tricks: He sits and shakes paw and heels very nicely. He also bows and counts to five by barking.

Arrival Story: He's kind of silly and sweet and loves everyone. He's been shuffled around a lot in the last year. He was sold by the breeder to a lady along with his brother, Barbosa. Turned out this lady was .....well....a little nuts! She was a collector and the dogs both had untreated allergies due to lack of individual attention.
This woman also had them both debarked! I suppose because she had 80 dogs!
Jack's breeder knew she had to get them back so she arranged with another breeder to pick him up and get him home. Then she adopted Jack to a girl in our area. This girl also didn't
tell her whole story to the breeder. She had a german shepherd who hated Jack and tried to kill him every day.
This girl called me at the store where I work as a dog trainer in desperation, "How do I make her like him?"
I told her she wasn't going to MAKE the shepherd like Jack and the only solution I could think of was to either keep them separated the rest of their lives or rehome Jack. She realized that was what she was going to have to do, so she asked me if I'd take him.
I agreed immediately and we started making arrangements for her to bring him to me. This girl only had him two weeks and when I gothim he was so full of worms that he was throwing them up. He also had an angry red, scabby, hairless patch on his back which I got cleared up in two days and he was 10 pounds under weight!
The breeder called me and we talked for over an hour. She's a great
lady and said that "Beezers" are very much like GH's except that they are more energetic and she said, "You know how a greyhound will sprawl out across a couch and take the whole thing for themselves? A Beezer only needs about 3". They'll just sit back and wait to see what's left."
So Jack Sparrow is here to stay.

Bio: Jack is a wire coat Ibizan Hound, which apparently, in my area, at least, is quite rare. Almost everyone who's seen him asked if he was a wolfhound. One man asked me if he was a Berger Picard. That was about as close as anyone has gotten yet!
Jacks breeder told me that he comes from the top two Ibizan Hound lines in the country and apparently it shows. I ran into a couple of ladies who show Borzoi and they said he looks as good as if not better than most of the Beezer's they've seen at Westminster! I'm so proud and so should his breeder be!

The first trip home with my new Mom: I put him in the back of the van on a nice big pillow. He stood up and
looked out the window trying to figure out why the girl wasn't getting in
with him.
Sara and I got out the camera and I told Sara I wanted to make a picture
documentary of Jack's arrival. I held up the camera and Sara and I started
calling his name, but nothing.
HE WAS PEEING IN THE BACK OF MY VAN!!!!!!!
I looked at Sara and said, "He's peeing in my van, isn't he?" She simply
replied, "Yes, he is!"
So we took him out and Sara held him while I cleaned up the pee. We put him
back in and I said, let's get him home quick!
Just about half way home, I looked in the rearview mirror (for the two
thousandth time) and saw him POOPING IN THE BACK OF MY VAN!!! Sara and I
both yelled "JACK!" simultaneously and then Sara yelled, "HE'S DOING IT
ANYWAY!!"
There was no place to pull over immediately so I drove to the road where I
always turn and pulled over at the intersection. We got him out again and
Sara held him while I cleaned up the poop! We put him back in and I raced
for home. Five minutes down the road.....you guessed it......he PUKED!
I just sighed and kept going. So far here at home, he's pooped once, peed
in the front yard, the side yard and almost on Loki once, jumped over the
gate at the bottom of the stairs and counter surfed the stove! Oh and he got a bath!!!! I figured since he wanted to go upstairs so bad, I might as
well, right? I opened the bathroom door and he waltzed in like he owned the place and hopped right in the tub! He smells MUCH better now!
He's a good boy, but just trying to figure out what's going on. He found
Loki's little bed next to the kerosene heater and tried to curl up on that.
I took a sleeping bag into him and he plopped right down. Now he just sleeps on the couch! Jack's page
