I think the mom has lost it, people. She's gone plumb basset crazy! First, it was Raymond Snootybritches coming to live with us. You'd think that would be good enough, wouldn't you? But NOOOOO, here she comes with this foster gal. Martina. She's a pretty good girl, though, I have to admit. She loves to run and play with me, and I had really missed that. Raymond is too snooty to play with anybody. Or so I thought...
We'd no more than gotten Martina the foster (HAHAHA) in here, than our local humane society (where I came from!) called the mom and said they had a basset for her. Well, my eyes almost popped out of my head! In she came with another one--a dark, tri-colored boy named Buford. Buford the Grouch. Buford gets nervous. When he gets nervous, he wants to snap at us. Raymond the Snoot taught him a lesson, though--he snapped at Raymond, and Raymond got into this big fight with Buford and tore Buford's ear up. Made the mom really mad at Raymond, who is her precious baby boy. I couldn't believe it!
But Buford is settling down and playing with Martina and me. So I guess he may be okay. But Raymond decided that HE was going to try to play with all of us! After all this time, I think the old stick may be trying to unwind a little. Hey, that's a scary thought...We get him back for all his snobby behavior, though--we can all run faster than he can! BWAHAHAHA, so he has to chase and chase us...
Well, I will update more later, nap time....most important thing, except for FOOD!

Well, the Mom went and did it. She brought another brother home for me. His name is Raymond. Mom went all the way to Birmingham, Alabama to get him. Of course, I got left at home. Sigh. Raymond thinks he's better than the rest of us. He just got here last night, so I will have to let you know more about him when I get him trained. I did talk him into snatching a sandwich and part of a loaf of bread off the kitchen table last night, so he might have possibilities. But for the most part, he just follows Mom around with those baggy eyes and looks like he's about to burst into tears. He won't even help me chase the evil hobbit chihuahua Mom gave to my sister. Well, we shall see! Love, Fred

This has been a very sad weekend for us. My brother, Copper, died in the hospital Friday. He couldn't get rid of that pneumonia. My mommy has cried and cried. Copper was very special to her, since she rescued him and got him all fattened up and feeling better. My daddy said he owed the vet a gazillion bones for all Copper's doctor bills, and it hurts to see Mom cry about all of it. I am doing my best to love them and stay really close to them. I haven't eaten one thing off the table or the kitchen counter, either. I'm being a good, good girl. My mommy put her arms around me and told me about Copper. She hadn't been spending a lot of time with me, and I was mad at her, but now I see why she was otherwise-occupied. Boy, do I feel like a dumb dog. Mommy said I will see Copper one day when I cross the Rainbow Bridge, but I miss him now. I have nobody to howl with. It's very sad. Love, Fred
