Bio:
Chiyo is a beautiful cream Shiba girl with the sweetest, most loving personality. At twelve years old she was dumped by her family at a kill shelter after they had twin babies. SIRA came to her rescue and she has recovered from the upset in her life. When Chiyo was picked up at the shelter the glaucoma in her left eye had progressed to the point where she could only see shadows. About a month later she started showing signs of having glaucoma in her right eye. She is loosing her sight, but is adapting well. Even though she is listed as "special needs" she is anything but. She still dances for treats! This girl still has a lot of life in her step. We are in the process of fundraising to deaden both of her eyes. She will fully loose her sight but she will finally be free of pain. Most blind dogs adapt extremely well to their loss of sight, and since Chiyo has been steadily going blind for a while she will not have any problems once she gets use to a new place. Once that is complete she will be ready to go to her forever home. Chiyo likes other dogs, so she would do very well with another gentle, calm companion dog or as an only dog. She is also great with cats and other small pets. Chiyo was raised with young children and loves them. Her loss of sight has not effected that either. She would do very well with all quiet, gentle children. Chiyo is looking for a home where she will be loved and cared for, for the remainder of her life. REMEMBER SHIBAS CAN LIVE TO BE 17 YEARS OLD!
