Bio:
Sayuri is a gorgeous red brindle Jindo. She was found as a stray and it is absolutely impossible for us to imagine why her previous owners never came to look for her. With people she is a love bug and eager to please. She loves to run and go for walks every bit as much as she does sitting at your feet and being scratched. Sayuri needs a family that has a big yard that is securely fenced for her to play in. She has proven herself to be a door bolter. She is incredibly sweet and would do wonderful in a home where she has children over the age of 8. Sayuri wants to be center of attention. She would do well in a home as the only (spoiled) dog or in a home with another playful dog. Also due to a high prey drive homes with cats and other small animals would not be good for her. Sayuri appears never to have had any obedience training. We have been working on basic manners and she is learning fast! She is scheduled to attend a boot camp at the Chicago Academy of Dog Training later in February to help her with her leash manners and overall obedience. Her forever home must commit to continuing with her training not only to keep her going forward but also to help with the bonding process. Sayuri does have luxating (loose) hips. She does NOT have hip displaysia. At this time she does not have any pain or lameness and she may never either. Her forever family will need to keep her on glucosamine/condroitin supplements to keep her hips strong for the rest of her life. This sweet, smart girl has been through a lot and really needs a forever home that will give her the love and security she deserves.
