Arrival Story:
Willie was surrendered to the animal shelter where I worked. He was cooperative during the initial exam, but we later had difficulty getting him out of his kennel. He became a true landshark. I had a conversation with him and why he couldn't be such a rotten chihuahua. He agreed to try to be good if I took him home for a few days.
A few days became a week, then a month, then a few months. We tried working on his severe fear aggression towards other dogs (even tiny ones) and strangers. Willie had lessons on cooperation with our puppy-man, Foosie (who has a PhD in charm, and a MA in deception). Curiously, though they were never quite buddies, they did get along... even at meal time.
Although he tried to be a good friend when at home, he still was rotten at the shelter. We told Willie that he needed to make a decision on where he'd like to live. After an exceptional performance at Easter with Mike's family, Willie decided to make his home with us! He's still rotten... and he needs to go on a diet! - It's Nov 2006 and Willie's doing great. He's a rotten cheese-head to the core, but we still love him!
Bio:
William is a very good boy (most of the time) and he enjoys being spoiled. He keeps the peace among our blind cat Stitch, our baby-girl cat Cue-Cue, and our little Maltese Bumble. Speaking of blind - Willie is blind his right eye. According to his previous owner, he was hit by a car the summer before he came to us. His eye was damaged with no possibility for vision to return. Don't worry, Willie's comfortable and he gets around just fine (hey, you should see Stitch, the wonder cat!). He had an enucleation surgery in November 2004 and the site has healed well. Willie will forever be a pirate dog. He's looking for an eye patch that suits his sense of style.
