Arrival Story: I work with a rescue group in northern Virginia. A few months ago I rescued a 5 year old, female boxer/American bulldog/pit bull mix named Paula from West Virginia. She was a stray and had not been well taken care of. She is spayed, house-trained, crate-trained, doesn't chew or bark (though she does make a cute "roo-roo" sound sometimes). While she gets along fine with dogs (and cats) in a home setting, she tends to get anxious at our adoption events and does not get along with all dogs. So, we have had a hard time getting her adopted. If anybody is interested in adopting her, please contact the Lost Dog Foundation. You can see Paula's description on our website here: http://ldcrf.org/main/pets.asp?sta tus=2

Bio: Finding the right dog can sometimes feel like you're playing connect-the-dots: You go from one trait to another, hoping to get a complete picture. Let's consider Paula that way, and she even has dots prettily sprinkled over her to follow along the way. We start at the dots on her ears and her Cleopatra eyes, and consider what's in that head of hers. Well, she's smart girl who already is housetrained, crate-trained, and knows sit and down. Since she's eager to please, Paula is always ready to learn more, too. The dots that are spritzed over her body let us know that she likes to go for walks. She is equally happy being a "homebody" and cuddling with her owner (or any nearby human- she adores people of all ages). Paula's a wiggly-waggly girl every time someone looks her way. (She also throws in a deep sighs of contentment whenever she petted.) Paula is a very loving and devoted dog. She always adores her person and soaks up attention but isn't demanding for it. She's a people-loving dog, gets along well with cats and dogs in a home setting, but is not good with (most) other dogs on the leash or outside. Not everyone is interested in her breed mix, but, if you are, Paula could be a good fit for you. If anybody is interested in adopting her, please contact the Lost Dog Foundation.
