Arrival Story:
George was brought to our local vet's office to be put down. The woman that brought him in had obtained him from a shelter about an hour drive away, and she had only had him for two days. She told the vet she wanted him put down because he didnt get along with her other dog, was biting, and she was not going to drive an hour to return him to the shelter. Needless to say the animal lovers at the clinic were disgusted that she was simply throwing him away. One woman who worked there happened to be there several months before, on the day I had to have my old Toy Fox Terrier put to sleep, and thought of me. When she called she told me of how George got there, and that he was nervous and kind of nippy, and asked if I would like her to bring him over so I could check him out and "meet"him, to see how we got along. Treva showed up in front of my place, and was just walking him around, so I went to the front steps and just sat down. Within just a couple of moments he was sitting next to me, letting me pet him and handle his feet and ears. I took him on a test walk, picked him up, and asked him to sit. He didnt have any problems with that so I let him adopt me. He later showed me that he had some deep seated fear issues, and was missing most of his front teeth. My guess is either because of, or the cause for his biting. We have had no problems. George has been here for nearly a year. Thank you Treva, for thinking of me, and thinking of George.
