Ruby's Ramblings

Obeying ME at Obedience School

My name is Ruby.

And every pawrent, child and dog at Paw Prints Dog Training School Good Manners Class knows that MY name is Ruby.

Jimmy and I had previously graduated from Wags-to-Whiskers' obedience class, which was designed to be a "good manners class." I did well, but we were the only two dogs registered, and I wasn't exactly social to the dogs in the class after ours.

A local vet owns and is the sole instructor for Paw Prints, and my behaviorist and my vet thought that I should enroll.

To me, the whole concept of an obedience class should be that others learn to obey ME. My mom, and Dr. Schenck from Paw Prints, have different ideas.

I barked and growled at Molly, Halle Berry, Darcy, JoJo and Bambi. And once, when I was in such a tizzy about Molly, I turned and ALMOST bit my mom.

Mom was wearing capri jeans, and once when I grrrrrrrrrrred at Halle Berry, I turned, then scratched Mom's leg deeply enough to draw dripping blood.

On the "academic" side of things, I easily sat and lied-down. Stand was a new command for me. I'll do it for a morsel of hotdog, but not for a dry treat.

I assume because I was such a stellar student, we had to stay after school. Dr. Schenck recommended some reading material, that we are purchasing from I may have some private sessions with Dr. Schenck, as well.

I am such a good girl. :^)
