Arrival Story:
Jesse has a long story. I rescued Jesse about 6 years ago from a "rescue". This rescue had about 30 dogs in three goat pens on a farm. The pens were no larger than the average guest room in a home. Jesse was in a pen with 10 other dogs. The ground was solid mud and feces. Their water came from a kiddie pool that they had waded in and was full of mud and feces. Many of the dogs were hairless and their skin was oozing from mange. Most of the dogs were in need of medical attention. Jesse cowered in the far corner of the pen while the other dogs jumped on her. There was no gate into the pen, so we had to climb over the fence to catch her. She was caked with mud and feces and terrified. It took 4 baths to get her clean.
Jesse had never been in a home. She spent the first 6 months at my house under the coffee table. A man offered to adopt her even though she was a broken dog. He was a friend of mine with a kind and patient spirit, so I allowed him to take her. Over time, he was able to coax this beautiful dog out of her shell.
Unfortunately, the man's life changed so that he could no longer have Jesse. She was returened to me but is now a new dog. Jesse is obedience trained, housetrained, cratetrained, rides great in the car, loves children, loves other dog, gets along great with cats, and is a good snuggler. She walks wonderfully on a leash and would make a great walking companion. I have had many foster dogs and Jesse is definitely one of the best.
Jesse is fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped and heartworm negative. A home visit is required to adopt Jesse.
