Updates

Wow, how fast the time goes. Achilles and I are doing good. We gave our mommy another scare and ended up with worms, how gross is that? According to my mom, it is pretty darn gross. The vet said we could have picked them up anywhere, on our walks, hikes, little sips of water from the creek, even the dog park. My mom is putting her vote in the dog park, although we have lots and lots of fun and enjoy playing with our friends, there are water pails all over the park being used by many pups. Who knows, my mom tells us we are worse than children (doesn't she realize we are still babies, 9 months old is barely walking age BOL) Achilles and I are taking the right meds and are worm free (hopefully furever). Achilles and I started our puppy classes and they seem to be going well. Three more classes until graduation, I am so excited. When the classes first started Achilles was the star, but lately I have been stepping out and shining all on my own, my mommy sure is proud of me. Well, I better get to sleep, its pretty late and after a long stay at the dog park running around and around and around, I am tired. Promise to write more soon.

Summer

Wow, this summer has been so much fun so far. We had company from Ohio for three whole weeks, it was great. We have been hiking on the weekends, really early in the morning since it is so hot during the mid morning and afternoons. We still take a nice walk in the evenings as well. Last night was sort of scary, we had just finished our walk, got back in the truck and started on our way home, all of a sudden mommy yells, "snake", " I think you ran over it". Our daddy of course being the nature man he is turned around and went back to see if he did run over the snake. Well it turned out he didn't, he was coiled up in the middle of the street. Achilles and I wanted out of the truck so bad, but mommy made us stay. Our daddy got a stick and tried to help the snake get across the street. The snake was not a rattle snake but it was about 4 feet long, our daddy is so brave, he was able to help it get across the street before any other car's came and ran over it. Well, I just wanted to write something to let you know I am still around. We are just having so much fun growing up it hard to get an extra minute. Will write more soon, my paws are tired now.

Update

Dear Diary:

It has been a long time since I have written so I thought I should give you the scoop on me and Achilles. We are both doing great, getting bigger and bigger everyday. We have had family visiting from Ohio and we have never had our picture taken so much, it is beginning to get annoying. It isn't our fault we are so darn cute is it? We are still not swimming in the pool, mommy and daddy keep trying, they are so cool, they never push us to swim. I am sure we will figure it out in time. Achilles started playing real fetch with mommy only, he doesn't do it for daddy and I of course have much better things to do with my time like chew up the cushions on the outside furniture. Of course that doesn't make mommy or daddy happy one bit. It has been so hot at our house. Mommy and Daddy let us spend alot of time in the house during these really hot days. We went on a nice hike on Monday, both mommy and daddy took the day off, when it came to bed time, both Achilles and I slept through the night, my mommy couldn't be happier, it is hard for her when we don't sleep since she has to get up and go to work so early in the morning. Well, I better get going, have treats to eat. Bark at you later.

Achilles

I just love my brother, but I tend to be sort of mean to him when it comes to dinner time, I need to stop doing that my mommy says. He is such a better hunter than I am. So far he has found two snakes, one rat and the whole body of a catfish. The catfish was fun, daddy had to chase Achilles really far before he was able to take it from his mouth. Daddy didn't want Achilles to chew on the bones and swallow any, that could have really hurt him. I am not into dead things right now, my mommy hopes that doesn't change, she is really grossed out when we put stuff like that in our mouths. Oh well someday she will realize we are "DOGS" hello!!!!! This weekend we went on a couple of walks, the weather was cold and rainy, we don't like to do much in weather like that. We are all looking forward to a nice and warmer week and weekend. Not much else to say now, will write more soon.

Happy Again

Well it has been awhile since I wrote, so I want to keep you updated as best as I can. Achilles and I are all better, we are still taking medicine, but we are pretty much back to normal. Mommy and Daddy are so happy they found a vet that was able to help us and enjoyed taking care of us. We both ended up with two different parisites that our other vet did not catch (Mommy thinks its because our poop sample was not good and the vet didn't bother to re-do the test). We will not be going back to that first vet that is for sure. We went on our first real hike this past weekend and had a blast. Achilles and I just love being outside. We over heard Mommy and Daddy talking and we have extra family coming to visit and play with us next month, they are coming from Ohio so we have never met them. I am sure we will impress them with our outgoing personalities. The only thing I really need to work on is my play bitting, Mommy is going to take us to a puppy trainer, sounds like so much fun to me. I don't do it to be mean, I just do it and I guess it hurts. Also, they don't like the way Achilles and I play fight, it gets way out of control sometimes. I will keep you updated diary on our progress once we start the classes. We are both getting much better with walking on a lease and putting everything in our mouths. We find that the better behaved we are, the more treats we get. We are very smart. Well, I better get going now, its nap time.

Wow, causing mommy to lose her hair.

Where do I start. My poor mommy is so sad. Achilles and I have been sick for a week and a half. Achilles and I went to the vet for our rabies shot and got sick the next day throwing up, diarrhea and we both stopped eating for three days. The vet tested us for Parvo and any other parisites and both tests are negative. Achilles and I still have diarrhea which isn't good. We have an appointment tonight with a new vet, hopefully they can have some answers for mommy and daddy, they both hate it that we are so sick. Mommy and daddy had to cancel their anniversary trip to Yosemite so they could take care of us, we know they love us alot. This is when I wish we could both talk and tell them what we might have gotten into that made us sick. Well, keep your paws crossed that this new vet helps us and helps mommy and daddy, the stress is so much for them.

Nothing Really New

Haven't written in awhile so I thought I would take a few minutes and update my diary. Achilles and I are doing great, just getting bigger and bigger. Mommy and Daddy take us out every weekend for a nice long hike and at least one night of camping. This last trip we went to Rock Creek and it was cold, Achilles and I really hate being cold, we shake and shiver and of course whine. Mommy put us in our sweaters and daddy laid down with us under covers to keep us warm, it was fun. We have so much fun sleeping in the tent, we get to share the sleeping bags with the parents. Achilles is afraid of the fire so he gets as far away as possible, if he would only get a little closer, he would see its safe and warm. Mommy and Daddy make sure I don't get close, to be honest, it scares me a little too, but I do feel how warm it is. Maybe when we get older we will get use to it. We have parents that love doing the outdoor stuff with us. Last night, we took our normal walk and as usual, Achilles was looking for sticks to carry around, he always finds the good ones that I want. As we were hunting for the perfect stick, Achilles found (what the parents thought was a stick at first) and went running up the hill really fast, when we caught up to him, Dad tried to take the stick to throw it and found it was a SNAKE (of course it was dead already), Dad yelled a bad word "____ its a snake", Achilles went running away with it still in his mouth, it was fun watching daddy run after him. After Daddy caught up with Achilles, he was able to get it out of his mouth, Daddy checked it out and it wasn't a rattle snake and got rid of it when Achilles wasn't looking. Mommy was pretty freaked out so we just made our way back to the truck and left. Will Mommy ever realize we are doggies? We are made to hunt stuff, she doesn't see we are really watching the birds now. What will she do when we catch one of those? Only time will tell. Well, I better get going, Daddy is taking us for a bike ride this morning. Chat later.

Death Valley

Well, we had a great time. I did hear mommy say she doesn't need to do that hike again for a very long time, I think it wore her out more than Achilles and I. It took us 7 hours to hike up Surprise Canyon, my mommy twisted her ankle thanks to Achilles pulling her over a tree branch near the creek, but she was a trooper and made it all the way up to the top with daddy and some other friends. Achilles and I had a blast running through the water fall and the creek, it took Achilles a few times to get use to it, he is a big baby. Once we made it to the top, we set up camp and Achilles and I went right to bed after we ate of course, I think we slept about 10 hours. The trip down the hill in the morning was fast and fun, we did that in about 3 1/2 hours. This weekend we are going to get to do some more hiking and camping, we can't wait. We love the outdoors, its so much fun (that is if it doesn't rain). The best part, no injuries for me which is always great since I seem to be a little accident prone. Will write more soon.

Weekend looks good.

Achilles and I over heard mommy and daddy talking about this weekend and it sounds like we are going to Death Valley to do some camping and hiking. That sounds like so much fun, we can't wait. Achilles hurt his leg last Friday when he jumped or should I say fell (really I pushed him so I could have the couch to myself but I won't tell mommy that) off the couch, so this is going to be the first real hiking we have done since I cut my paw in the snow. I think mommy is a little scared to take us anywhere because we always seem to get hurt, but we are just pups and like any kid, we have our good days and bad days and visits to the vet from time to time. Mommy is sure to have her pet medical kit ready when we go. Gotta love us.
