She got home at 3pm as usual and went to the fridge, got out the carrots and a knife, placed 'em on the counter, and chopped one up. Knowing these glorious pieces of food just had to be for me, I got up from my place on the couch and waddled over. Mommy went to the front door and grabbed my leash and collar and of course I followed because my little brain keeps telling me that I want to go for a walk in the snow - my body tells me otherwise. Clipping the collar around my neck and picking up a long pole-like thing, Mommy led me to the living room and placed the pole on the carpet. She then picked up a handful of carrot pieces and led me over this pole while saying "Over!" and "Good boy Dasher!!" and giving me a carrot. Anyone who knows me well enough is already be aware that I know how to go over a pole. Heck, I can jump 10 inches! And even though I haven't jumped in a while, I haven't forgotten how...although Mommy thinks I have. Anywho, while I'm going on about nothing, I might as well tell you about my walk. So, the 'jumping' went fine of course but the walk. Oh, it was horrible!
First, Mommy went to the front with me, got ready and led me outside. We always fight about who goes out the door first but she wins every time, I guess she just doesn't get the point that I'm the dominant one (she's trying to 'fix' this 'problem' -rolls eyes-). When we get outside I walk along beside Mommy just like she says but about half way to the park I stop because my body says my feet are cold. My brain wants to go to the park but my body says to go back in and I do what my body says and stop. Mommy doesn't like this at all! At first she started to coax me forward with pretend food (like I'm gonna fall for that!) but I don't budge. Then she pulls on my leash just a bit. When I don't move, she loops the other end of the leash around my neck so it forms a kind of collar that tightens when you pull up(just like Cesar Millan did in one of his episodes). I must admit, it wasn't tight when she lightly pulled up but I acted as if I wasn't pleased, sat my tush on the sidewalk and Mommy took it off. As you can see, this wasn't going well! We were on that sidewalk for about 15 minutes now, arguing about where to go. A little frustrated (more like a lot), Mommy crouches down and holds out her hand to me while she gently coaxes me forward. I gave in and took a few steps forward and Mommy burst into a frenzy of cheers and praise. I looked at her as if she were a maniac.
That's 'cause she is a maniac!

PS: Mommy got her cast off so she can finally spend more time with me!!!
It's so great to be back! Most of our old pup pals have accepted our requests and look! It's a... a... a background! Mommy made me a special background complete with my name and wittle doggie bones! She also made a cute little banner for our new website. (Which reminds me: send in your photos and suggestions! There's lots of room for your pet's pawfect picture!) Anywho, lots of work to be done. The family's having a Super Bowl party tomorrow and I can't wait to see all my two-legger friends!
