Leave a bone for Slippers Bush- Missing

Special Gift Box:

Nicknames: Houdini (she unhooks her chain sometimes).

Sun Sign:  Quick Bio:
 Birthday: October 11th 1997
 Likes: To go for walks.

Pet-Peeves: Everyday treats, she wants the ones that I get for them once in a while.

Favorite Toy: Rope toy.

Favorite Food: Ol Roy (Red bag) and people food (on rare occasions-usually to take pills).

Favorite Walk: Up the road.

Best Tricks: She can unhook her chain.

Arrival Story: Slippers is the daughter of Nakoma, so she was born at our home (she was born on our 14th wedding anniversary). She was also named after a Disney movie (or at least related to one)-Cinderella's slippers (also, she has what looks like slippers on all 4 feet). Slippers was born with a navel rupture (which the vet took care of when she was spayed).

Bio: Slippers was born in a litter of 8 puppies. We were able to find homes for 4 of the puppies, then one of the pups became sick. I had put off having them immunized and they came down with parvo. Slippers was the second pup to become sick, we took her and her bro Bear to the vet. Bear died in Donald's arms while we waited to see the vet. He told us what Slippers had and her chances were not good, but he would do his best. While he kept Slippers I began to try and save the remaining two (parvo shot, pedialite around the clock) but I lost Roxie, the runt, the morning after Christmas. The following day we said goodbye to Teddy. But Slippers survived, in fact at the vet's there were 3 other puppies with parvo, none of them survived. So, she was 1 of 4 at home to survive and 1 of 4 to survive at the vet's. I call her a miracle. At her last checkup/rabies shot, the vet says she has a heart murmur (may be related to her age or to the parvo) and cataracts. As a whole, Slippers is doing great. She has a sweet personality.

I have nothing new to add. We still have not found her. No clues of anyone seeing her. Why she just took off, I cannot begin to understand. She had NEVER done that before. The days leading up to that day, she was bouncing more than usual, seemed to be feeling great. She has been gone since January 20th. God's blessings on her, wherever she is now.
Love you always Slippers

Wow, it is hard to believe that I am 14 now. It just seems like a couple of months ago that I turned 13. Boy these years just pass by.
Today is also Special at our house, because it is Mom and Dad's wedding Anniversary. They have been married 28 years; which means I have been with them now for half of their married life (the best half if I do say so myself)!! Which Dad is out on the truck, so they will be celebrating next weekend since Mom had to Bella-sit this past weekend.
I was born in the early morning hours on a Saturday morning. I had 7 litter-mates. Boy did we keep our Momma Nakoma busy. Four of my litter-mates went to other homes; and if you have read my bio you may already know, that 2 bros and 1 sis went to the bridge after we came down with Parvo. I was the only one who survived. One of my sisfurs went to the bridge during the tainted food scare. The other 3 we do not know about.
I have already had my Birthday treat today. Momma and I both had a special treat for just us; while the others had Milk-bones. Mom has sung to me a few times. She has to Bella-sit tonite, so she will not see me until she is home early in the morning.
I am enjoying my day, it is so nice outside. The leaves are falling and it is pleasant. We are expecting rain, but that's okay, I can use the extra napping time.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day.
God Bless and Love,
Slippers

October's Party
By: George Cooper
October gave a party;
The leaves by hundreds came—
The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples,
And leaves of every name.
The Sunshine spread a carpet,
And everything was grand,
Miss Weather led the dancing,
Professor Wind the band.
The Chestnuts came in yellow,
The Oaks in crimson dressed;
The lovely Misses Maple
In scarlet looked their best;
All balanced to their partners,
And gaily fluttered by;
The sight was like a rainbow
New fallen from the sky.
Then, in the rustic hollow,
At hide-and-seek they played,
The party closed at sundown,
And everybody stayed.
Professor Wind played louder;
They flew along the ground;
And then the party ended
In jolly "hands around."
