Arrival Story: Emma and her brothers were brought into the Alameda County SPCA from San Mateo. She was clearly not well fed as a puppy. Interestingly enough, about two months after we adopted Emma, there was a segment on the local news about how San Mateo authorities had arrested a couple for animal abuse who had over 30 white shepherd dogs (and mixes of white shepherds) in their tiny house. Emma and her brothers were dropped off at the Alameda SPCA with reasons stating that the family in San Mateo couldn't afford her litter's upkeep.
