Leave a bone for BODIE (MEMORIAL)

Nicknames: BEAR

Quick Bio:
Likes: HE LOVED HIS HUMANS AND HE LOVED HIS CANINE COMPANION, AVIA

Pet-Peeves: NONE

Favorite Toy: SQUEAKIE HAMBURGER

Favorite Food: BODIE LOVED SPAGHETTI AND BREAD

Favorite Walk: ANYWHERE

Arrival Story: Bodie was found wandering the streets of Green Bay with a spike collar and a heavy chain and padlock hanging from it. He went to the animal shelter where nobody claimed him. My fiance and I were fortunate to find him the day after he was impounded and after a tense waiting period, he was awarded to us. I had a Siberian husky named Avia, and when the two dogs met - it was like love at first sight. They were fiercely devoted to each other, like a husband and wife. I believe Bodie would have given his life to protect Avia. Bodie was also devoted to his master and my fiance/turned husband, Ron. When Ron died suddenly one cold night and I received the phone call, Bodie started howling before they even told me the awful news. Bodie curled himself into Ron's favorite recliner for days afterwards, and watched for Ron to come home for months. I don't know if Bodie ever really stopped watching for Ron. Sometimes I think the only time Bodie really became "my dog" was that last day, when I found out he had cancer and had to leave us. As I sat with him at the vet's office and said my goodbyes, I knew he truly loved me, as I did him. I will never forget him.

Bio: Bodie was an undemanding and gentle soul who was always near, but never "in the way" like big dogs can sometimes seem to be. He was like a spirit dog, and sometimes I think I can still see him, hovering close to me, always guarding me, as he did in life. I miss him terribly. http://www.angelfire.com/mi4/tselv ey/world/
