Holy Cow! What in the world? I am DOTD! How did that happen? I am so shocked and surprised to learn about my pawsome honor. I am thrilled beyond words and for me that is hard to believe. Thank you Dogster HQ! I will be a good DOTD for you.
It seems that my mom gives so much time to my kitty siblings that often we (the doggies) get put on the back burner. We told mom that it was okay because she can't chew gum and walk at the same time. So balancing Catster and Dogster can be a real challenge for her. BOL.
River sent me a beautifur furever diamond. She said, "Hunter!! Congratulations on being chosen Dog of the Day!!! Yipppeeee!!! xoxo River"
Pippin and Petey sent me a cool baseball. They said, "Congratulations Hunter, for your Dog of the Day Honor!! You look furtastic on the main page of Dogster and deserve this reward. I hope you have a Great Day and have someone play ball with you!! Congratulations again. Love, Pippin and Petey" Petey is a new member of the furmily. Welcome to Petey.
Rocky and Sarge sent me a fun beachball. They said, "Hi Hunter, Congratulations on Dog of the Day! We think you are very handsome and are sending you a fun beach ball to play with! Rocky and Sarge "
Millie sent me a delicious steak. She said, "Congratulations Hunter! DOTD...you're pawsome! This honor deserves a nice, juicy steak...don't you agree? Enjoy your special day! Hugs, Millie"
Walker and his pawsome doggie and kitty furmily sent me a fun beachball. They said, "Congrat's Hunter on being Dog of the Day ! We all hope you have a great day ! Love & Wag's & Purr's, Walker & Family"
Abby sent me a delicious grape drink. She said, "Congrats, Hunter, on being Dog of the Day! You look like a fantastic pup!! Smooches, Abby"
Yoshi sent me a Forever Play Ball! He said, "Hi, Hunter! My name is Yoshi and I'm a Welsh Corgi of the Pembroke variety. I think that you are simply adorable! I'm sending you this tennis ball because you like tennis balls and to celebrate your being named Dogster Dog of the Day! Yay!"
Biskit and her pawsome doggie and kitty furmily sent me a pawsome blue ribbon. They said, "Hi, Hunter!Congratulations on being chosen as Dog ot the Day! Woo hoo! What an exciting and pawsome honor! You go, boy! We're very proud of you and we love you, buddy."
Angel Tippi and her furmily sent me a Forever Play Ball! They said, "Congrats on being DOTD Hunter!! Woofs and Slobbers to you."
I received a Golden Bone from Hunter. He said, "Congrats Hunter! On being Dogster's Dog of the Day! Hope you have a great day! Woofs, Hunter" Now, don't you think that he has a PAWSOME name?
Izzie and her furmily sent me a fun beachball. They said, "Hunter, congratulations on being dog of the day! Iz, Hammer and Sophie from Louisiana"
My pawrents have had a plateful lately. Hooch, my kitty brofur was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in February. His dianosis was complicated by pancreatitis and IBD and he finally became well enough to go to T4Paws for iodine treatment. Well, he got to come home yesterday after my pawrents went with my human brofur to get his biopsy at the hospital. My pawrents had to leave for my brofur's home at 5 AM today to have him back at the hospital by 8 AM. His procedure went well and the results are expected back soon. The doctor does expect that it is cancer but is hoping that it will be operable after treatment with chemo. The doctor is very hopeful and so are we. Next week my human brofur gets a PET scan and meets with his doctors the day afterwards to find out what treatment, if any, he will receive. The doctor told my pawrents that my brofur's tumor is 5 x 7 centimeters and that he suspects it will be a 2b or 3a class. If the chemo shrinks the tumor, then he will have to have his right lung removed.
My pawrents sadly learned last night that one of their dearest furiends was killed in a traffic accident yesterday. It seems that she was killed on the same road my pawrents traveled on to pick up my brofur Jim to take him to the hospital for his biopsy. It happened about 11 AM and, while she did not die instantly, she died at the hospital before her husband could reach her. Her name is Cecelia Pearce and she will be dearly missed. She was one of the sweetest persons you could ever meet and gave so much of herself to so many in need. In fact, she just got back from a week at the beach where she cooks each year for special needs children at a camp to which they go in the summer. And she was on her way to help relieve her sister from caring for their mother who had suffered a stroke about a month ago. My pawrents are just devastated over the loss of their friend.
3:37 PM EST ~
Quincy and his pawsome furmily sent me a hot dog. They said, "Hot Dawg, you're Dog of the Day, Hunter! Congrats! We're glad we didn't miss it because we don't check on Dogster enough. Hope this honor cheers up your family! Love, Quincy and gang"
6:11 PM EST ~
Scooter and his furmily sent me a yummy steak. They said, "Congrats on being Dogsters Dog of the Day."
Huntington sent me a nice blue ribbon. He said,"Hi!! Congrats on DOTD!! I'm so excited for you!! =^_^= Yay!! Hunter!! YAY!!"
Montana and Bailey sent me a beautifur furever rainbow star. They said, "Congrats Hunter on being DOTD!! You are a star today!! Hugs, Montana and Bailey"
Thank you to all the pawsome doggies and kitties who have helped make this a really special day for me with the pmails, rosettes and helped me celebrate this pawsome honor as Dogster's DOTD!

Oh boy! I am 8 today! Wow, a great big 8. That makes me a big boy, huh? My mom says I look older because the hair around my eyes is turning white. Hey, Duff is older, Mom! What is with that? I am NOT old! But, Happy Birthday to me! Yeah!
I got a cool beach ball from my pal Pippin. He said, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY HUNTER!! Wishing you one of the Best Birthdays Ever!! I am so honored to be your friend, and I hope you have a great day on your birthday!! All the best wishes, today and always. Happy Birthday!" Thank you, Pippin, for my ball and my special birthday wishes!
Oh, yummy... I got a cupcake from Emma and Ellie. They said, "Happy Birthday "Hunter"! May you're belly rubs and head pats be frequent today, and the treats plentiful, and may you get lots of new toys! From Switzerland with Birthday." Thank you for my yummy cupcake and for being my pals.

Wasn't it nice of Catster to given us free gifties of a Febreze collar? It helps us to touch base with our pals to let them know how much they mean to us and that we are thinking about them. The collars are such a a purrty blue, too.
I was going to thank each special pal who sent me the furiendship Febreze collars in my diary but so many precious pals have sent collars to me and to my furmily that my mom told me that no way could she name each special pal. Please understand that my meowmy IS the problem not me. I need her to type for me so I have to just grin and do what my mom says. My mom just keeps losing track of from whom I am receiving these pawsome collars. You know you just can't hire good help these days.
I would would really like to thank each of you fur the furiendship Febreze collars that you sent to me and want you to know how much it means to me to have such special and caring pals. You are all furry special and I am so greatful to have such pawsome pals in my life. Thank you to all who cared enough to send these furiendship collars to me. I love all of you.

Yesterday, July 28th, Minister Misty shared this touching piece in The Power of a Purr and Prayer. I saw my mom having so much trouble fighting back tears and then losing that battle and crying very sad sobs. Here is what Minister Misty shared.
Dear Mom and Dad
I died today.
You got tired of me and took me to the shelter. They were overcrowded and I drew an unlucky number.
I am in a black plastic bag in a landfill now. Some other puppy will get the barely used leash you left.
My collar was too dirty and too small, and the lady took it off before she sent me to the Rainbow Bridge.
Would I still be at home if I hadn’t chewed your shoe?
I didn’t know what it was, but it was leather and it was on the floor.
I was just playing.
You forgot to get puppy toys.
Would I still be at home if I had been housebroken?
Rubbing my nose in what I did only made me ashamed I had to go at all.
There are books on obedience teachers that would have taught you how to teach me to go to the door.
Would I still be at home if I hadn’t brought fleas into the house?
Without anti-flea medicine I couldn’t get them off me after you left me in the yard for days.
Would I still be at home if I hadn’t barked?
I was only saying, “I’m scared, I’m lonely, I’m here, I want to be your best friend”.
Would I still be at home if I had made you happy?
Hitting me didn’t make me learn how.
Would I still be at home if you had taken the time to care for me and to teach me manners? You didn’t pay attention to me after the first week or so, but I spent my time waiting for you to love me.
I died today.!
I miss you!

My kitty brofur Hooch's fiancée Calamity sent me a nice heart rosette to thank me fur helping make her birthday a special one! Thank you, sweet Calamity!
My human sisfur arrived on July 17th for a visit with my furmily. She got to stay for a week. We don't get to see her often enough because she lives in Wichita, KS which is a long, long way from where my pawrents live. Mom says takes 20 hours to drive to Wichita from their home. And my mom doesn't fly! Yikes, being in a car fur 20 hours! No way! Mom has had lots of activity since my sisfur arrived!
This morning, my pawrents got up early (4:30 am) today to take my sisfur to the airport to fly back to Wichita. Mom said it has been so much fun having her with them. My pawrents did not stop since she arrived. They celebrated lots of birthdays. It seemed that they were constantly on the go or having people over. Mom said it has been a furry short week with my sisfur and she wants her to come back soon for a longer visit. There just was not enough time to do effurything they wanted to do. But, it was fun getting to see her while she was here.

Aw, it is so great to have pals. Cosmo was so thoughtful and sent me a kite and a note that he is glad I am doing well. That was so nice of him.
I am doing very well now. My swelling has gone down since the doc doc took my stitches out. It seems I had a reaction to the stitches and the swelling in my poor face and on my neck was very noticeable. The swelling went down almost immediately after my stitches were removed. I was put on more antibiotics to insure infection would not get me. But now, I am back to my old self. I am howling at night for no apparent reason and McDuff, not wanting me to feel foolish, joins my antics. The neighbors think we are crazy but that is okay. We are happy dogs.
