Our daughter wanted a puppy and I wanted a blue heeler. Loopy needed a home. Her owners had her in a kennel for 2 years because she chased his expensive race horses. Loopy came home with us and has run the household ever since. She keeps us all in our place and has the best temperment of any dog I have ever had. We could not have asked for a better dog, she is loving and will do anything in the world you ask of her.

This is my first entry for my diary. I wanted to share with my pals what happen to me this summer. I became very ill with a fever of 105. My family took me to the doctor. I had a uterian infection. My doctor did the best he could at his office but he didn't feel comfortable with what he had the equipment to do. He told my family I needed to go to a hospital. My family took me to Mandeville, Louisiana, to an animal hospital. This was a very good hospital. I heard my Dad say, it was better than some human hospitals. Anyway, they had to do major surgery on me and I was away from my family and my Kye dog for a whole week. They took very good care of me. I almost died because the infection was so bad.

I was finally able to come home, but I had stitches and they has shaved my belly. It was a very close call, but the doctors thought that after a week I needed to be with my family. They seemed to think I would heal faster. They were right. I came home and I felt so much better. Within a week, my coat was shiny again and I was almost a hundred percent.

My family made sure I got good care. I can't have any puppies now, but that isn't important. I am alive and well and back with my family. My family loves me very much so I am not mad at them anymore for making me stay at the hospital.

How was your summer?
