Arrival Story: spirit was delivered to her mum and dad who reside with us, she had 2 sisters and 2 brothers, at birth she was a twin, but I am afraid for some reaon the other pup did not make it, as it was spirit only weighed 3oz where the others at birth were 6-7oz
Bio: spirit lives with her eldest sister Alice and her youngers brother Sam, spirit has not been very well this year, its not enough to say to a vet there is something wrong with my dog she is not very happy I would say depressed and certainly in some sort of pain. I noticed her fang was still in at a year when I had been asking them to remove it, well last year they took her in to clean her teeth, to see if that would help, as her teeth were so dirty for such a young dog, cutting a v long story short I pestered and we were sent to a tooth specialist who thankfully found that she had a very pronouced over shot jaw which was giving her trouble, so she removed 6 upper teeth, and in this way would now allow the botton teeth to get stronger as they were a bit loose, well she did well after that, instead of a constant wet muzzel it dried up, then one day a little while ago I noticed that she was licking her mouth again so back to just the vet and she found that spirit had ulcers in the roof of her mouth, poor little thing, she has been on steroids for over a week now and seems so much better already.
HOW WRONG COULD I HAVE BEEN
My poor spirit had about a week and then she was so depressed and again licking her jaw I started her on her pain killers again, as it seem to be the thing that would get her to eat anything.
well we did get to see the dentist although she could not see anything wrong with spirit, but as the pain nedication seemed to help, she said she would x-ray and make sure, as I was sure there was something wrong again with my poor spirit, so we left her again at 8-30, by 3pm I could stand it no longer and had to ring but as they had found her a space to see the dentist she still had to do all the other ops before she got to spirit. by 6pm we were told to go to the surgery to pick her up, neither my husband her I spoke on the way there as we were convinced she something nasty but could not say it. well as it turned out, the x-ray revealed that it was different from the last one she took, a few weeks ago and found a big abcess, she drained it and it went as far as her nose, anyway the dentist was very hopeful that this would indeed be the end of spirits problems well that is about 3 weeks ago and yet slowly she is coming back, at us with her naughty behaviour, even the dentist said she was a different dog, a much happier dog
spirit had another restless night, can not work out what is the problem as she manages to eat and drink ok, she had never really played with the other pups very often but of late, not at all, but on saying that, she is still into beating her love of her life, but I am worried about her mental state, this tooth problem that goes on and on, if the vets dont know what the problem is, which is what I think anyway, why dont they say, its cost £500 so far and all we have acheived is that she had 6 healthy teeth removed and apparently the bottom set grew stronger because of it, but then the stitches did not disovle as they should of done, so she spent even more uncomfortable nights, then when that seemed to calm down, she had a wet mouth again and on exam the vet disovered her roof of her mouth was ulcerated, but HOW! so she has been on steroids for it now, nearly 2 weeks into the treatment now, yes she does have a better dry mouth but she is still so depressed, what do I do anybody have any ideas to cheer my little girl up, I am so worried about her,
