Arrival Story:
Who says you can't find love on the internet? I was researching the shiba inu breed and came across this slightly crossed eyed, square jawed, red fur faced Little Grrl on the National Shiba Rescue website. She captured my heart instantly and for days I could not get her out of my mind. I contacted her foster mom (Amanda) and drove 250 miles to meet her. Upon meeting her I received a thorough ear washing and a display of her many catlike qualities: slightly aloof, coming on her own terms and that winning Cheshire cat shiba smile. I noticed on the website that most of the other rescue dog's adoption fees were $200 or more. Little Grrl's adoption fee was only $125. Being the sensitive sort, I began to cry thinking "she's not a discount dog." Six years and much joy later, Little "Zuki" Grrl is a full fledged member of the family. She is truly priceless.
