Leave a bone for Squirt Arrival Story: UPDATE 3/31/08: As big as a throw pillow, with ears to match! :) Squirt has been with us for too long - and we're not sure why she can't find her forever home! All of her laboratory mates have found their matches, and Squirt continues to wait to find the right match. Squirt spent her entire life in the confines of a kennel in a laboratory, and since being in foster care, has grown into an amazing housepet. She is very small (15 lbs), loves all people, children, and fellow beagles, is cratetrained and housetrained, and is just an amazingly little beagle! Her match will be a patient adopter willing to show her the world! A home with a fenced in yard is a must for Squirt, but she is not a particularly active dog. She will make a great companion to a retired couple, or to a family - just someone who has the time and patience to bring a naive little beagle home and can show her what it is to be a loved and spoiled housepet. Sweet and gentle are understatements when it comes to this little beagle. Please ask about Squirt so this adorable little beagle can finally go HOME!
*Squirt does not suffer any ill effects from the research.**
Since being back at CBR-East, Squirt has been an angel, and has not shown evidence of having issues with housetraining. Since she struggled in her first adoptive home with this, we believe she will just simply need to go to a patient home with a fenced in yard since she does struggle with voiding while on leash. Squirt picked up where she left off in foster care, and still loves everyone, and gets along well with other beagles. She is very much a little lap dog (15 lbs) who just wants to be held like a baby 24/7. She will need a patient adopter willing to spend time with her on her training and adjustment. She is a little shy and may take some time to warm up, but she is as sweet and gentle as they come. A calmer home with less activity might be less stressful and overwhelming for her. If there is someone who may be home much of the day to help her adjust, that would be ideal. As a retired laboratory beagle, she will need gradual exposures to new experiences, but with you by her side, she'll gain the confidence to do fabulously! If you are willing to open your heart to this sweet, loving little beagle, please email us and ask about Squirt! She will make a wonderful addition to the right home. I've Been On Dogster Since:
