Arrival Story:
Zippy was born in Italy to a dog belonging to a friend's landlord. My friends took care of the litter (and got the Mom spayed.) They couldn't keep Zippy, so they tried to give her away outside the post exchange. I thought she was adorable, but didn't think I could take her. A few weeks later, the vet told me they had a pup that would have to go to the post in Vicenza, where she would be put to sleep if she didn't get a home. I couldn't bear to let that happen, so against the wishes of my family and Julietta, I adopted Zippy. (Her original name was "Lucky," but we think Zippy fits her well.)
Bio:
Zippy is an amazing escape artist. She can climb fences and squeeze through tiny spaces, so she has to be watched every minute. Luckily, she's a tad overweight, so that keeps her in the yard a little better now.
