Arrival Story:
While standing outside our office, a co-worker saw a small puppy dodging cars in the parking lot. She called to the puppy and the puppy ran to her. She brought her in, shaking, and the puppy lived under my desk for the rest of the day. She hugged a small teddy bear I had on my desk while she slept.
I took her home and showed my partner Gary who instantly fell in love with this 8 week old abandoned puppy. Now 4 years later, Abbey is 75lbs but still thinks of herself as a puppy or a lapdog.
Bio:
She is a Border Collie, Spaniel mix (we think) and has always been very skittish around others. We are not sure if it is from her first 8 weeks, but considering someone abandoned her, we would not be surprised.
She is our baby and a great little (big) sister to Lucy.
She joined our family a few month after Zachary, Gary's 15 year old companion passed away. It was very hard on both of us, but we felt we were ready when Abbey came into our lives.
