Arrival Story:
I haven't had a dog for a few years and was looking for a pug. Buddy showed up in the paper, advertised through a local humane society. I called about him and learned that I was the second caller. The first caller had two small children and lived on a busy corner in town with no fenced yard. We live outside of town toward the country and have a fenced yard, and our son is a little older, so the lady who was in charge of the adoption process decided to move us up to first on the list. She brought him for a home visit and my husband (who is not a dog person and was rather hesitant about us even getting a dog) fell in love with Buddy instantly, so Buddy came to stay. This was on Sunday, January 13, and it has been an adjustment for us -- and for our five cats -- and I sometimes wonder what I've done by bringing a dog into the house (and we have now added ANOTHER dog to the family, a Pekingese named Cinnamon) -- but Buddy is very lovable and so is Cinnamon so things are getting better every day -- however they are teaching each other their bad habits. I guess it's a dog thing . . . .

Bio:
Buddy's original name when he came to us was "Torque", we think maybe because he has a curly pug tail -- ???? That name was not working for us, so he became "Buddy". Buddy's original owner apparently was an older gentleman who had gotten this dog as a companion for his 15-year-old Boston Terrier, but the gentleman had a stroke and Buddy was just too active, so he had to be released to foster care to be placed for adoption. I'm sorry for the other gentleman, but happy for us!!!
