Arrival Story:
It was pretty standard. After being accepted by the breeder as an adopter, I chose which dam I liked best, then waited six months for her to be bred and the puppies to be ready to come home. When the first photographs were available, the pups were all gorgeous and tempting, but one stood out immediately. She had a wild, wary gaze, but at the same time, she was lying calmly with no indication of genuine wariness. She had spirit and attitude, and her smarts were already visible. So when I drove down to Winchester, CA, to pick up my puppy, I knew exactly which one I wanted. She was the last pup to be picked up and whimpered all the way back to the motel, but on the drive home she was a perfect angel and it's been good ever since.

Night Eyes' Saweeka Manitou, just Manitou to her human packmates, is a purebred Native American Indian Dog. Her parents are Ayanani and Jake; she was bred by Shirley Allen of Night Eyes Farms in Winchester, CA.
