Arrival Story: As soon as that pink nose and those little green eyes looked at me, I was a goner! I brought her home on Halloween of 2003 and thought about naming her Pumpkin. I kept looking at her, smiling, and saying,"Ahhh, you're just the cutest little punkin'." The name stuck.
After 4 years of being a stay-at-home pet, I discussed how she would alert me to specific medical conditions before they would present themselves with my doctor. He told me that she was a rare, natural Medical Alert Service Dog. After doing a lot of research, training Punkin for public access, and training her for other tasks, she has become an outstanding Service Dog who accompanies me 24/7.
