Birthday: September 5th 2003 Likes: Going everywhere with Mom, basking in the sun, playing with her littermates. Pet-Peeves: High winds! Favorite Toy: The laser light, and Dad when he plays "I'm gonna get you." Favorite Food: Apples, carrots, dried liver and an occasional french fries (wow, does she go nuts when she smells french fries!). Favorite Walk: Where ever it is warm and dry.... with NO WIND. Best Tricks: Rolling in the most disgusting smelly things on the planet and being PROUD OF IT! Arrival Story: As soon as that pink nose and those little green eyes looked at me, I was a goner! I brought her home on Halloween of 2003 and thought about naming her Pumpkin. I kept looking at her, smiling, and saying,"Ahhh, you're just the cutest little punkin'." The name stuck.
After 4 years of being a stay-at-home pet, I discussed how she would alert me to specific medical conditions before they would present themselves with my doctor. He told me that she was a rare, natural Medical Alert Service Dog. After doing a lot of research, training Punkin for public access, and training her for other tasks, she has become an outstanding Service Dog who accompanies me 24/7. Forums Motto: You call it work. I call it love. The Groups I'm In: California Service Dogs, Service Dogs Group, Service Dogs of Northern California, Service Dogs of Southern California I'm Velcro: I go everywhere with Mom. She tries to take out the trash without me, and I wiggle right there on her heel, hee hee. I go with her to work, stores, to the doctor and dentist; there is NO WAY she'd leave me alone or at home. Of course, I am well trained on and off leash. I sleep with her, wake her up from nightmares by walking on her or kissing her face, and cuddle all night and day.
Tricks: I can do lots of tricks: high 5, high 10, twirl around on my hind legs, kiss your check, stay, down, find the car, find mom's classroom, and tell Mom when someone tries to sneak in her classroom :) I can even tell Mom when one of her students is really sad.
Littermates: I talked my mom into buying 3 of my littermates, so I have lots of fun when we all run around and play when I'm home. I'm the queen though, and they all know it, hee hee. My brother, Tut, is my best friend. Mom and Dad always laugh when we are curled up with each other. But, then again, I'm really close with my sisters Sassy and Buttons too. We are all so glad that Mom and Dad love us so much, and kept us together!
