Nicknames: Annie, Annie-Banany, Big Oaf, Miss Thang, Annie Oafley, Annie Sue
Birthday: October 25th 2007
Likes: Eating, playing, squeaky balls and toys
Pet-Peeves: Well, it seems she is very annoyed with the presense of the resident cats and more recently, she has devolped a fear of shadows.
Favorite Toy: She loves balls that squeak and her Kong Wubba ... and anything else that squeaks, including her little brother Samson!
Favorite Food: She really shows no bias towards food - she loves it all equally!
Favorite Walk: Anywhere her people go!
Best Tricks: She is quick to learn, so far she knows sit, down, touch, and five. We just started training for agility and are working on turns and bottom too!
Arrival Story: All I know is that Annie was rescued from a puppy mill by a lady who thought she was an Airedale. The woman contacted Airedale rescue and our coordinator sent out a call for help and I stepped up. So in comes Annie Sue! She also had two brothers and a sister in other foster homes who have since been adopted.
When I saw the 6 lbs little girl, I didn't think she could possibly be an Airedale but rather a Welsh ... maybe?
Annie weighed 7 lbs at 3 months according to the birth date given. We don't know if this is an accurate birthdate or if she is even an Airedale. At 3 months, we figured she was a standard size of a Welsh Terrier ... but at 8 months and almost 30 lbs, she far exceeds a Welsh in height and weight ... leaving us to believe we have a smaller sized Airedale on our hands!
Bio: Little Annie came to us with a bad kennel cough and pnuemonia. She mostly just slept - a LOT the first month we had her. Once she gained her strength and health back - LOOK OUT! The girl is crazy!!!
She torments the house cats, she torments the dogs, she torments the people, and she is terrible to the flowers and leaves outside as well! But, the second you pick her up she becomes puddy in your arms. Thankfully she is as cute as she is ...
Forums Motto: Pay me attention & we'll get along fine!
Sooo, let me ask you this, do your people take stuff out of your mouth all the time? I'll be walking by the flowers outside and they look so good and they smell so sweet, surely they have to taste good to. And the moment this thought pops into my head, bam! I snap off a piece of the flower. The second I do, my mom pries my mouth open and starts probing around and pulls out my good eats! What is that about?!
And it isn't just with the flowers, she does it with rocks, with acorns, with sticks, with twigs, with wicker (the kind from the clothes basket or the cat basket is the best!) ... I can't win for trying! Pretty much everything that goes in my mouth, they dig it right back out. It is annoying and I wish they would just stop!
I got new toys! I got a pink ball with soft wool on the sides and it squeaks and it is awesome! And I got a pink Kong Wubba too ... that is fun to tug with.
Hey, has anyone ever tried hycinthias? They are really super pretty flowers that are blooming around my house right now ... and I figure they must taste as good as they eat. Every time I go and bite one off I get yelled at and fingers shoved in my mouth - I don't even get to eat it! What is that about?! So, if you've tried them, let me know cause I'm curious if they are as good as they look!
Yesterday, I had my very first agility lesson! Mom says I'm working on flat work stuff and really, all I'm doing is following her hands, which have treats in them btw. DUH! Of course I'll follow them! And I'm working on this thing called bottom, but not MY bottom, confusing, I know. And I even got to go through a tunnel! How fun is that!
So, for agility lesson number 1, I think I like it. I'm not sure when agility lesson number 2 will be though.
