My New Dog

First 6 months

Just a qwick note about Axel's adjustment to our home. For the first 4 months Axel would never set paw in the basement. Not even his favorite food treat could get him down the stairs. Well, that has all changed. He now sleeps there! What a switch.

I think the breaking point was when a contractor needed to see something in the basement, Axel wanted to follow. He was tenative but curious. Ever since then, he follows whenever we go there.

"Rebarkable", aren't they?

Axel has completely settled into our home and schedule. He is such a sweet dog - we are so lucky! For 1.5 years old, he has great manners and so far no accidents in the house.

The Easter snowstorm was his all-time favorite weekend. He hopped around in the 11 inches of snow like an Easter Bunny. What a cutie!

Adjusting to my new home

Axel is adjusting well and so is his mom. He was scared of the stairs in our house but is learning very fast that he CAN do it. It's funny, but he will NOT go to the basement level. I just got him to take a few kibbles on the first two stairs. We'll try more later. Maybe when he was a puppy, they kept the litter in the basement.
