Arrival Story:
Felix came to us when the previous rescue he came from had turned him over to a so-called rescue in E. Texas turned out to be a hoarder that didn't feed him. Before the first rescue pulled him, he was at a high-kill shelter in Irving. Poor Felix had cuts all over him and his ear was ripped in half and he had severe tapeworms and ear mites. He was emaciated from not being fed as well. When he was turned over to us, he was 40 lbs. Now he is up to 70lbs. All of his cuts have healed and he's been treated for the mites and tapeworms. He's such a pretty boy now and has one crystal blue eye and one brown. He's also been heartworm tested (negative) and put on heartworm prevention and Frontline. He's been vaccinated, neutered, and wormed and is seeking a forever home.

Felix really needs a home soon! He has been here for several months and has never had a family to call his own. He doesn't have bad habits and doesn't jump fences, dig holes, or bark too much. He doesn't mind being crated, and won't make a peep. He walks well on a leash too. He's an active boy because he's still a pup, but learns commands very quickly and loves belly rubs. My husband is being deployed in 7 weeks to Iraq and I'm trying desperately to move the rescues out while he's gone since it's hard for me to take care of the added animals on my own with 2 small kids. Felix is fully vetted and is healthy. He has lived his entire life in a shelter situation until he got here. Even now, he doesn't get the time and attention he deserves as the only dog or a home with only a few other dogs. We were told we'd be fostering Felix for only a few weeks until a suitable home was found. Now, it seems they have other pressing matters and he's been here for 5 months and they have officially turned him over (as in, he's no longer a "foster"). Please consider giving Felix a home! He's excellent with dogs, cats, and kids too. What more could you ask for in a dog????
