Likes: Her immediate family Pet-Peeves: Strangers... she doesn't like strangers and can be quite aggressive-- especially to men Favorite Toy: a stuffed dog named "Limpy" and Jerry Lee Favorite Food: Pedigree! Favorite Walk: Because of her aggressive tendencies we generally keep her in a fenced in yard for her own protection. Best Tricks: She talks! And she just makes my mother's day.... Arrival Story: Shawn is actually my mother's dog... we went to the vet's office with another of our companion animals and on the bulletin board was the saddest picture of this dog that needed a home by THAT DAY. My mother had lost her black lab the year before and refused to get another dog until one found her-- and decided that this dog had found her... especially because we had just returned to this vet's office after years of going to another one.... just on that day. So they brought her down to the vet's office (her owner was one of the tech's daughters) and we met her... she actually growled at and bit my mother lol... she had to have surgery to remove a growth on her foot but the vet did it for free and then we took her home a couple days later.... we went in a couple months later to let the tech know that Shawnee was doing fantastically well in her new home and, oddly enough, the tech was gone and the people in the vet's office acted like they didn't know what we were talking about-- and Shawn's records were even gone. We figure she was just meant to be with us. Bio: We found out somewhere in there that one of the reasons they got rid of her is that the daughter's husband was abusive to Shawn.
