Quick Bio:

Birthday:
June 25th 2004

Likes:
Sitting in front of the heating vent, finding the sunniest spot in the house, eating socks, giving kisses up your nose, being kissed on her neck and getting lots and lots and lots of attention.

Pet-Peeves:
When she doesn't get enough attention. Me! Me! Look at me! and Big Dogs walking on *her* block! Oh, and cats, of course.

Favorite Toy:
Anything NEW or any stuffie she can tear the stuffing out of and lobotomize. Or a brown paper bag from the grocery store that she can roll around in.

Favorite Food:
Chicken! Josie loves chicken so much that after she eats it, she gets the "Chicken Crazies." Or cheese. Or peanut butter. Do we have to pick just one?

Favorite Walk:
To the dog park at Walter Haas Park in Diamond Heights, where there are lots of other friendly doggies and the people they own.

Best Tricks:
Sit. (She learned how to sit in only one week, smart girl.) Shake. (Hard to do when your legs are only 3 inches long.)

Arrival Story:
I had been wanting a little weiner dog for as long as I can remember. For my birthday last year, my husband surprised me with a deposit for a puppy! Years of brainwashing paid off! We found our great breeder, Sierra View Dachshunds, online and had been stalking them for a while when we heard there might be a litter that could bring us a puppy. We fell in love with Josie right away, but someone else had dibs on her, so we decided to take another puppy. After a v-e-r-y long set of roller coaster circumstances, we finally got to bring Josie home. We are forever grateful that she is ours! (Even when she pees on the carpet.) She is the smartest and sweetest little puff.

Bio:
Josie is the sweetest little girl! She is very friendly and loves kids, strangers and especially the aforementioned chicken. She also loves to dig holes and then roll around in them, but we don't talk about that quite as much.

The Puff's Guide to Life

all dachshunds, all the time!

ah yes, another great weekend for me, The Puff.

Mommy and Daddy took me to a wonderful place called Carmel. i was allowed to go in so many different places and there were so many stores just for me! (as there should be, of course.) i sniffed EVERYTHING i could.

there were baskets of greenies in one store right on the ground! i kept trying to steal one out of the basket, but i guess i'm not as sly as i think i am, since i kept getting caught. maybe i should have gone for the little one instead of the jumbo sized one that was as big as my head.

sunday was GREAT! Mommy and Daddy took me to the beach and we saw a billion other dachshunds! okay, maybe not a billion, but at least twenty. i guess they're all in a club down there. well, we met up with them and went on a walk and then got to run all over the beach! you should have seen the looks on peoples faces when they realized they were surrounded by weiner dogs. heh heh, phase one of Weiner Dog World Domination almost complete.

if you can believe it, it was my second weekend in a row with my weenie brothers and sisters! last weekend we were at fort funston for Doxie Day, and let me tell you - it. was. so. freakin'. awesome. weiner dogs as far as the eye could see.

so all in all, a great weekend. aside from the fact that right before we left Carmel, Mommy bought me this stupid bee hat. you can tell how much i like it in the picture. just wait until i find it and destroy it. i'll get you yet, bee hat! you will be mine!

until next time,

zzzzzzzz.....zzzzzzzz.....

I am SO sleepy today! I keep thinking about getting up and then changing my mind. I walked around the backyard a little bit this morning, but then went straight back to my crate for a cat nap. Wait, I mean dachshund nap.

I think I'm so tired because I had such an awesome weekend! Friday I was at doggie daycare, my favorite place in the world. I ran around like a maniac all day and was exhausted when I got home!

Saturday was great. There was a knock at the door Saturday morning, so of course I had to bark and RUN to the door to see who it was. And it was Mollie, my favorite little dog trainer! Mollie and Mommy and Daddy all went for a nice walk with me and I got treats whenever I didn't bark at a Big Scary Dog. I tried my hardest to be well behaved. I worked, too. For a little while.

Then me and Mommy and Daddy went to meet up with two of my favorite dog friends, Scooby and Delilah. And they came back to my house! We ran around and barked for hours. Sweet.

Sunday, not only did I get to go for a big walk, but I went to breakfast with Mommy and Daddy. I LOVE going to breakfast, because usually it means I get breakfast, too. Mmmmmmm, eggs and bacon. My favorite. AND I got to go to the park! There were little dogs everywhere!

The best part was Sunday night when Nana and Mr. Klein (he won't let me call him Grandpa) and Aunt Stephanie and Uncle Chad all came over to my house to play with me! All my favorite people in the same place! Yay!

No wonder I'm so sleepy today! Enough typing, more napping.

Until next time...

...at least that's what my Mommy tells me. You would think that with all that praise, she'd get around to writing my diary entries more often! Unacceptable. But I'll let it slide since she let me sit on her lap all morning and even let me chew my Nylabone in her lap. Now Mommy's pants are covered in Nylabone. Mmmmmmm....... pants......

I had a GREAT weekend! Mommy and Daddy were FINALLY home and in town and the weather was nice, so I got to play outside all weekend! We went to my favorite park up in Diamond Heights and there were even other dogs my size!

I tried really hard to behave and only barked a little bit. I thought I was doing pretty good, too. Okay, so I only behaved until I found a nice, really disgusting spot of grass at the park and rolled around in it for 15 minutes. What? The other dogs were doing it! It smelled great. At least I thought so, but Mommy and Daddy kept sniffing me and going, "Whew! Josie stinks!" Just goes to show you that even parents are wrong sometimes.

After the park, Mommy and Daddy took me to the Glen Park festival. So many people! And they were so friendly! I got tons of attention (as I should). Mommy and Daddy were so proud of me! I was super, super good and didn't bark at other dogs and got treats for being quiet around the big dogs! Mmmmm....... treats......... Wait, what was I saying?

Sunday was a big day for me. When Mommy and Daddy usually leave, I have to stay in my crate until they get home. It’s not so bad, but it gets pretty boring. This time when they left, I had the whole living room to myself! They only left for a very short while and were back before I knew it! So much better than being stuck in the crate. I had the run of the place! Carpet and Kongs and water and all my toys….. so great. When they came home, I went to greet them at the door. Daddy gave me kisses and Mommy kept looking around the living room like she was searching for something. Whatever she was looking for, she was really happy she didn’t find. Mommy told me what a Good Girl I am and I got a billion hugs! What can I say? Another awesome weekend.

Woofs!
