Arrival Story:
I don't know if you want a full blooded Dachshund or not. But Ginger is a mix. We are located near Walton KY, about a 30 min drive south of Cincinnati OH on I 75. Her adoption fee is 50 dollars. Ginger is 8 weeks old, and is not spayed yet. Nor is she housebroken, though she is learning fast to use the puppy pad I have down for her. She has been around our cat. He is so laid back that he lets them jump on him and pull on his tail. She is a puppy though, so you can teach her what is acceptable action to take with your cat. Her mother was full blooded Dachshund, and her father was half Dachshund and half Beagle. Both parents weighed in between 15 to 18 lbs, so she shouldn't get any bigger then that. She weighs about 2.9 lbs right now. Ginger is 8 weeks old last Saturday. She has been de-wormed, but should have another wormer given to her this Thursday. If I still have her at that time I will give her it myself. She does not have any shots yet, but like I said if she stays with me for any amount of time this time, she will get her shots. We got her and her sisters right before New years day, and so everything was closed. We found homes for them all right away. So we had no chance of getting them their shots. Because she is so young, we will adopt her out with a spay contract. It simply states that you must have the dog fixed as soon as it is healthy for the puppies to be fixed. Which would be around 4 months old. Some vets do it at a certain weight, but I am a little leery of that process. So I like to keep it safe and just say 4 to 6 months old. But you can ask your vet, and make your own decision.
