Arrival Story:
My husband and I were fishing at Lake Atkins when we saw Tadpole sitting on a fishing dock. He was whining at us and then jumped down into the tall grass under the dock. I told my husband that we needed to check on him. While we were heading back to check on him, two big dogs ran under the dock and began attacking him. We couldn't see what was happening, but then we heard a splash. Tadpole jumped into the lake to get away from the dogs. My husband turned the boat and we went after him. When we reached him, my husband pulled him out of the lake. He was very traumatized, but not very injured. When we got him home, we gave him a bath and got rid of all the fleas and ticks he had on him. He's been with us ever since.

Bio:
Tadpole loves living with us. He loves his brother and sisters. Sometimes, he forgets that he will be fed every day, and bullies his brother out of his food. Tadpole loves his doghouse and appreciates everything we do for him.

I thought I had been dumped again.

She left me!

On Thursday my mom put me in the car. I didn't want to get in, but she picked me up and made me. We drove for a while. I thought I might throw up like I did on the day she brought me home, but I didn't have anything in my stomach. I think she forgot to feed me. She didn't give me anything to drink either. After a while, we pull up to a building. My mom got me out of the car. We were by a busy street and all the cars were scaring me, so my mom had to pick me up and carry me inside. I didn't know where I was. Mom talked to a lady, wrote some things down, and then SHE LEFT ME! She hugged me first, smiled at me, said some things, then walked out. I thought I had been dumped AGAIN. The place was very scary. There were people there who I did not know. They stuck something in me, then I guess I went to sleep because I don't remember anything after that UNTIL I woke up. WHAT HAPPENED TO ME? Why am I in so much pain? What did they do to me? After a while, a lady came and tried to take me out of the cage I was in. I didn't like her, so I growled at her. Then she went away. Thank goodness. I didn't know what else she would do to me. After that, I saw her. My mom was walking up to my cage. SHE CAME BACK!!! I was so happy to see her. I kept getting between her legs so I could be as close to her as possible. She walked me back to the front of the building and talked to a lady for a little bit, then we went out to the car. I think she was afraid that it would be hard to get me into the car, but it wasn't. I jumped in as fast as I could. "Take me home", I said. I don't know if she understood me. I think she might have because we drove straight home. I was so happy to see Donnie, Tootie, and Cricket. They all sniffed me a lot. I think they felt sorry for me. It wasn't a very good day, but I'm feeling a little better now. I know that if my mom ever leaves me anywhere, she'll come back to get me.
