Arrival Story:
I found Lakshmi listed on Craigslist, of all places. She had just been adopted by her second family who couldn't keep her. I brought her home in January 2007 and started working with her on anxiety and issues. As a last-ditch effort, she had to go on fluoxetine for a few months to help, and this allowed her to complete obedience training and to more fully settle into her new home. She's definitely a handful-and-a-half, but she's sweet, loving, and very intelligent. She tries very hard to be a good dog, and keeps me laughing with all her mischief.

Bio:
I've tracked down Lakshmi's original family and have learned a lot about her background. She was the smallest of five pups in a litter resulting from an unintentional breeding between a purebred Siberian Husky and a wolf. She was born in Idaho at the kennel of an Iditarod musher.

Today, Mama is going downtown to take a special class, to learn how to cook for me!

I don't like being left at home, but I think this time might be worth it.

She's covering the class for one of the local newspapers, and I've promised to be a good taste-tester in the kitchen when she comes back. Yum!
