Arrival Story:
Adopted from SICSA. My mom fostered me for 8 weeks while I gained weight and became healthy again. She cried when she took me in to be shown to potential adopters. She told my dad she that if I was not adopted that day he would have to take me back on Sunday. Well on Sunday he took me back. I resisted every step of the way: I wouldn't get in the car, then I wouldn't get out of the car and as he stood there waiting for them to open I acted as dejected as I possibly could, I wouldn't lift my head, I wouldn't look at him and I wouldn't wag my tail. It worked!!! He just couldn't leave me there. He adopted me and gave me a forever home. Yeh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bio:
In September of this year my mom's friend was driving down the road and I ran out in front of her truck. I almost went over the rainbow bridge that day. April gathered me up because I couldn't get in her truck and asked Jodi to help. Jodi took me home and fed me rice and chicken broth. I was nothing but bones. She searched the internet, checked the paper for lost weimys and called shelters. No one was looking for a lost weimy. She took me to SICSA to be evaluated, but they just didn't have room for me so she volunteered to be my foster mom. I was weighed (44LBS), vaccinated and dewormed/fleaed. I went home and was finally able to meet her family: the dogs Duke, Nala, Shortstop, Buxton and the cats: Spice, Timmie, Tortie, Sam, Cleo and Spot. I gained weight(now weigh 72 lbs), was potty trained, learned to play, and wiggled my way into my foster mom's heart. I really had to work on my foster dad's heart but I think he loves me more than mom or it may have been that they had already opened their home to so many homeless and unwanted animals. When you meet me please don't laugh:( I have no neck. My mom was worried I was injured and paid to have it x-rayed. Evidently I was born with a congenital malformity of my spine. My cervcial spine should be about 5-6" long, but my vertebra are stacked inside of one another and my cervical spine is about 2" long. I kinda look normal when you meet me, but when I sit my head looks like it is sitting on my shoulders. Trust me, it does not slow me down. My idea of a good time is playing tag with other dogs, chasing the ball, and going to the barn with my mom when she is caring for her horses, did I mention Reno, Scotch, Andy and Cherry are part of my family also. But the best thing to do is going down the trail when my mom horseback riding. Then I get to roam with her for 4-5 miles. Yeh!!!
