Lexi came to me as a rescue. It was just suppose to be a rehoming. Well to my horror, poor Lexi was very neglected. Her nails were overgrown to the point they were twisted, her hair have been shaved, but we could see the matting down to the skin. But the worst thing of all was poor Lexi's mouth. This young girl has gum infection with red and bleeding gums. She had to take meds to calm doen the infection to get work done her her mouth. The deep cleaning has been done, but there is still lots to do. She lost 2 teeth because of the neglect. This was a very very well to do family. But guess whose footing the vet bill.
Bio:

Lexi came to us on 12/21/07 what a christmas present. My mom got a new dog and I got a new sister to play with. Well my mom was checking her out as this was suppose to be just a rehoming. Well to my mom's horror there were several things wrong with my new sister. Her nails were overgrown and twisted, her hair had been shaved down, but we could still see the matted hair down to the skin. But to top it all off was my poor sister's mouth. Her gums were bright red from infection and a bad order was coming from her mouth. Well these people had been feeding only 6 tablespoons of food a day and it was large food like for a big dog. My sister could hardly get it in her tiny mouth. But she chewed it the best she could as it was all she was going to get. The result was the food pushed her gums away from her teeth causing everything to get trapped in her gums this causing the infection. She has had 2 extraction so far and a deep gum cleaning. She can only eat soft food for now until we get her teeth and gums back into shape. She has gained alittle weight since being with us. My mom feeds us well. All heathy, no toxics in our food. Thank goodness we got my sister in time, if this had kept up she would not be my sis.
But she is now in her forever home with mom and me.
