Arrival Story:
I was working at the SPCA at the time when the previous owner of the dog relinquished him. She handed him to me and said that he had been hit by a car three weeks ago, and they can't do anything for him. It turned out that he had a dislocated hip, and needed to have it put back in place and in a sling for 2 weeks. I decided to take him home with me in the evenings so that I could let him out to go to the bathroom and his bandages would stay clean and dry. His leg would have to be healed before he could go up for adoption so he spent a couple weeks at the shelter during the day, and my front porch at night. I dropped him off at the vet 2 weeks later to get the bandages off and the leg x-rayed, and when I came to pick him up, he heard my voice and went crazy. It was then I knew that he thought he was my dog, and I couldn't let him down. To this day I tell people that Rudy chose me...

Bio:
Rudy is the first little dog I have owned. I used to think that little dogs were for old people (no offence really), but now I know better. He is still 100% dog, and sometimes more of a handful then my big dog. He is just in a wonderful portable size. *UPDATE* March 24th, 2005, Rudy passed away this morning after stealing a bag of chocolate Easter Eggs, and eating them all under my bed. It was a few hours later that I found out about the missing eggs, and although treatment was started as soon as possible, he died early this morning. I will always love you Rudy, and I am truly sorry for being so irresponsible by forgetting about the chocolate.
