Leave a bone for Zero

Nicknames: Mama's boy, Z, Z-dog, Our Nightmare Before Christmas

Quick Bio:
Likes: New smells! Car rides, the dog park, long walks (I also love to pee on stuff, don't tell Mom, I embarass her sometimes)

Pet-Peeves: Being alone, not much else though, I even think it's funny when I get in trouble. I can't resist wagging my tail.

Favorite Toy: my baby the grim reaper (May he rest in Peace)

Favorite Food: I love Bread

Favorite Walk: ANYWHERE!

Best Tricks: Speak, Eat your breakfast, and leave it... I also know all the basics, newly taught "bang, bang," play dead.

Arrival Story: We headed to the human society the day before Thanksgiving to find us a furry kid. As we were walking, Clint suddenly stopped and said, this is the one, and sure enough, he was! He had been laying quietly at the back of his pen. He quickly got up when I approached and gave the tiniest lick to let us know of his approval. He howled when we walked away to get a leash. I knew then the bond was started (he has since become quite the talker, see pics).

Bio: The next day we had plans to share Thanksgiving with friends and he was so good the whole time. Once we were done eating the guys agreed to do the dishes and Lana and I watched the dog show on TV. The guys had started on the dishes and therefore had their backs turned on the Turkey... you know where this is going... next thing I know Zero comes running to me full of pride from the kitchen with his prize. You would have thought he conquered the world by stealing a turkey leg! I could hardly scold him I was laughing so hard. He's learned very quickly though and has been so eager to please and recieve love. He's mouthy, too smart for his own good, still pulls on the leash, and I love every minute of it!
I will never go to a pet store knowing the kind of treasures they have waiting at the local shelter.

Well, I have been a long time in up keeping my journal because I am not so great with focus and organization AND because we just moved from Phoenix to Oregon.
The air is better here, I just can't get enough exploring time with Mom. As soon as we are home from one adventure I crash then I am quite vocal about my wishes to go on a new adventure. My mom just loves when I talk to her all day about my disatisfaction =*)

Well, I decided it was time to stop making my Mom guess when I want to go outside. So, awhile back I started jingling the door handle to let her know (I, of course, still go crazy any and everytime she puts her shoes on). Now I don't have to go by her schedule, I can just tell her what I want. She's not as instantly obedient as I like, but we're working on it.
Well the other morning when dad left he shut the bedroom door, WITH OUT ME IN IT! So, having my mom trained so well... I just jingled the handle until she got up and let me in. I was SOOOOOO excited! I love it when we communicate like that... I had to roll all over her and on the bed and give lots of kisses, to let her know she had done well.
She'll be a great human when I'm done with her.

Well, we have since been calling Ariel, Kit, because she is a he...
I am so glad Mom brought Kit home for me, we are great pals!
We play together and sleep together although Kit can be rather hyper for me. Mom says Kit has even helped with my seperation anxiety. Whatever that is?
Mom went away for 5 whole days and it was just me, dad, and Kit. Kit kept me busy though and Mom was back again before I knew it. She went to Indiana to see some of her family. I bet she spent that whole time gushing over my new cousin Titus the Basset Hound. Her stuff smelled like him when she came home! Oh well, I know she still loves me best.
Off to supper for now
howls : * )
