Arrival Story: Gita was chained day and night in the neighbors backyard with no shelter, no food or water. Her situation was getting progressively worse by the day. After confronting the owner/neighbor, she surrendered Gita. She was skin and bones and had a few more days passed, her life could have taken a drastically different course.
Bio: Gita is my first dog. I had always LOVED dogs, but never thought my personal schedule would lend itself to doing justice to a pet . I had hoped someday for a change in lifestyle that would allow me the privilege of sharing my life with a canine companion. In the meantime, I had 'told' the Universe a couple of things: "I don't want a female dog. I don't want a large breed dog. I don't want a rescue dog. I can't have a dog, right now." (I had only ever been around and "socially parented" small breed male dogs, none of which were rescues. I felt it took skills I didn't have, to take in a rescue animal and blessed those who did. To be honest, I was a little intimidated by larger breed dogs. I had heard females were more 'difficult' than males.) SO, the Universe listened closely and replied, "OK! We hear you. Have we got a deal for you! Here you go!" ...and along came Gita. What a privilege it has been to learn from and for her. She's made me a better person and taken my life in directions I never would have imagined. Training, reading and researching, including starting Wet nose. Muddy paws., where we wanted to share our experiences and knowledge as we navigated the massive, confusing, unregulated, misleading and sometimes dangerous pet food and product worlds.
And so Baby Gita, Mom 'get's it', now. You're no 'assignment' from the Universe. You're it's GIFT. Mama is one blessed human. You know it takes Mama a little while to 'get stuff'. After all, I'm just a people. You know about the winddrift, yes? The angels dropped you for Mama, but it was a windy day and you mistakenly blew next door. It just took Mama a while to catch on. And that's how your AKC name became: Suesse Schoene Gita von Engel (translation: Sweet Beautiful Gita from the Angels). And that's your story, my Suesse Schoene Gita.
